Anindya Vannisa Putri, adalah seorang mahasiswi yang mendapatkan kesempatan untuk kuliah di Universitas Kyoto, Jepang. Ia mengambil kuliah di Universitas di Surabaya jurusan Bahasa Jepang. Senangnya hati Nindy, panggilan gadis remaja itu yang berbinar-binar saat membaca pengumuman bahwa ia lolos menjadi mahasiswi pertukaran ke Jepang. Nindy yang sejak kecil bermimpi pergi ke Jepang, karena ibunya adalah seorang novelis yang sering menceritakan tentang negeri matahari itu. Berkat doa dari sang ibu, ada jalan menuju kesana. Dari ia mengambil kuliah jurusan sastra Jepang, kemudian mendaftarkan diri secara acak dimana para peserta wajib mengikuti ujian. Berhasillah Nindy lolos masuk tiga besar. Singkat cerita, Nindy bersama dengan seorang teman lainnya pergi ke Kyoto-Jepang. Di sana ia tinggal di dalam sebuah dorm atau apartemen kecil khusus untuk mahasiswa pertukaran. Mempelajari berbagai macam budaya Jepang dan keunikan-keunikan lainnya, membuat Nindy selalu tak lupa membawa kamera dan dipost melalui jejaring sosial facebooknya. Agar ibu Nindy juga bisa memantau aktivitas anaknya tersebut. Hingga pada suatu hari, ketika bulan demi bulan berlalu. Ia berkenalan dengan seorang laki-laki yang kuliah di Universitas Seika. Tetapi berbeda jurusan, ia mengambil jurusan ilustrator komik. Namanya Takuya. Seorang pemuda berumur 23 tahun dan bekerja di toko boneka. Dari perkenalan itu, berbincang-bincang mengenai dunia komik yang ternyata adalah kesukaan Nindy juga. Di sana mereka bertemu, di sana pula mereka harus berpisah. Ketika waktu memisahkan jarak mereka, dan keharusan Nindy yang wajib pulang ke Indonesia oleh sebab hanya mendapatkan jatah 1 tahun. Pada saat terakhir mereka bertemu, Nindy berkata bahwa ia mencintai Takuya. Begitupun ternyata Takuya juga mencintai Nindy dan memberikan kecupan terakhir di pipi Nindy. Sebelum Nindy kembali ke Indonesia, Takuya mengajak gadis itu berkeliling Kyoto dan mengabadikan momen-momen mereka. Takuya berjanji pada Nindy setelah kuliahnya rampung, ia akan menyusul Nindy ke Indonesia, dan tinggal di kota Bali. Menjadi guru ilustrator komik disana.
