Axel POV I yelled as the ground shook terribly again. This time, Camille pushed me and we both fell to the ground. "I've said enough!" Amara shouted and grabbed the staff from Amara. As the staff made contact with Amara's hand, it disappeared in the blink of an eye. "You both are physcopaths!" I shouted as Camille and I stood up. "I can't believe that you two had to decide my destiny!" I yelled. I felt sorry for myself for dealing with devils like the twins. Because of them, I was fated to dooom. My destiny was decided and I lost the woman I loved. "You two are crazy!"

The elegant walls of the suite felt like they were closing in on me, echoing with phantom screams of the dying. I blinked rapidly, forcing the terrifying vision away until the modern room restored itself. My knees felt weak, and I walked back to sit on the edge of the plush bed. "This time will be completely different," I vowed quietly into the silence. This time, I would be prepared for the end. I summoned my system panel, watching the translucent blue screen materialize in midair. My eyes dropped to the bottom corner where the apocalyptic timer was ticking down mercilessly. 87 Days, 6 Hours, 12 Minutes.

The world slowly returned to normal. But the heat-damaged soil would take decades, maybe centuries or even millennia to recover. Everyone had to keep wearing cooling suits just to survive. The shelter continued growing as people established a city around it. Three years after the apocalypse, individual nations had ceased to exist. All races now lived together as one. Dozens of representatives formed an organization called the Federation to lead us. There was no discrimination, only the mutual understanding of survivors who'd lived through hell together. Everyone worked together and had enough to eat. The problem was that most of Earth's plants and animals had mutated after the extreme heat.

I just couldn't wrap my mind around what it is but please can someone tell me why I'm so demn scared. It quickly shrank and condensed, eventually taking the form of a middle-aged man standing on the water, looking leisurely and carefree. Andrius was frozen in place. A bolt of lightning struck through his head. He understood. He understood everything. The sea beast king had never feared the Doom Cannon from the start. He was pretending. He intentionally wanted Andrius to use the world-ending move to accumulate energy for his own evolution, and he succeeded. Andrius paled at the realization. He had been too careless.

He said. "Law? Broken? By who?" I asked. "Yes... We made this law four centuries ago after the great war between the Heavenly realm, the Ginn's/Demon realm and the Beast of Doomsday." I nodded realizing the depth at which there must be harm. Four centuries ago, I was a witness to the great war and how we all had to fight to seal off the Beast of Doomsday. The Beast of Doomsday was born out of the havoc created by mankind over the centuries, it grows on hatred and bloodshed, it is one of the most powerful creatures that even I can't overpower. I can only contain it in the face of a war just like I did years ago.
