Large windows of glass and red curtains stayed open, letting the cool wind travel inside. Larice glanced forward at the end of the throne room that elevated the empty seat of the Emperor. The golden chair, with red and white fur on the backrest, rose the highest among the elegant seats on the sides—all had rested above the curved, marble-tiled stairs. Behind the seats stood a red-painted wall, revealing a huge symbol of a golden phoenix at its center. Everything was gold and red. Even the round chandeliers above them screamed of wealth and power.

Her head resting on her paws as her body curled around her again. I watched Sorscha warily before looking around the huge room again. It looked as if it would be in an old antique painting or in a picture in a museum. It had a giant chandelier that dangled above the long dark wooded table. I counted the number of chairs, twenty-two. Ten on either side and one at each end. But unlike the normal chair, I sat in, the one on the other end was more of a throne. A very ugly and old-looking throne. At least this told me I should never let Samael be an interior designer. "I take it you don't like it here?" I looked behind me surprised. "I can take you home. I can set you free.."

Or that it was a resting place for her kind. They finally entered another room, this one smaller than the others, but with high, vaulted ceilings, and natural light pouring in. This room had stark, stone floors, and in its center sat one remarkable piece of furniture: a throne. Mounted high up on a pedestal, at least fifteen feet high, sat the wooden throne, a chair which was extra wide, with arms that sloped upward, and a back that angled on a triangle, coming to a point in the middle. Beneath it, on its corners, sat two golden lions, designed to look as if they were holding up the chair.

The curtains have been adorned with gilded linings and decorated tips. A noble throne of molten steel sits atop a tall elevated platform and is adjoined by five smaller and less elaborate seats for visiting dignitaries. The throne is covered in simple patterns and fixed on each of the slim ears is a jade animal head. The thin pillows are a dark crimson and these too have been adorned with ornate needlework. Those listening to their royal highness can do so on the abundance of long and rather bulky granite benches, all of which are facing the throne in a half circle. Those of higher standing can instead take seat in the stately mezzanines overlooking the entire hall.

One of them quickly took off the black cloth concealing the thing they carried. After the cloth was taken off, all came to see that it was a golden throne with statues of two hickory-coloured, standing, pissed wolves serving as armrests. "Boy, that throne is... how do I put it?" Dante excitedly mind linked Zyair. "It's something never brought out on the day of a champion's crowning as Alpha King," the latter responded. Dante nodded with a smile, "Yeah, that's it. Jeez!"

The guards opened it, and I stepped inside with them. The people inside turned to me. My heart was beating rapidly, not used to the sudden attention I was receiving. They looked at me in awe from head to toe. I raised my head and looked at the throne. The King, Queen, and Axel hadn't arrived yet, but I was asked to sit on one of the chairs next to the king and queen's throne. I was nervous to see everyone looking at me. "His Majesty King Edmund Hastings, His Majesty Queen Charlene Hastings, His Royal Highness Prince Elric Axel Hastings," the guard loudly said, announcing the arrival of the three people.
