She had to join him in the memory. She walked over to him, carefully, like approaching a scared animal. She didn't look at the rock. She looked at him. "What was the song about, Finn?" she asked softly. He blinked, confused. "What?" "The lullaby. What were the words?" He frowned, his concentration turning inward. "It was... it was about the moon being a silver boat. And the stars were... were little fish swimming in a dark sea." He hummed a few notes, his voice trembling. "She said I should sail away on the moon boat and have sweet dreams."

The first thing that Blanche did was to let the bracelet float with the duckweed, then she let the two girls clear the duckweed with teezers on the round bracelet while she cleared the aquarium table. Two small angelfish came into view and three goldfish swam across them. "Look at my swordtail fish!" Crimson happily move the bracelet portal to the side and they saw the orange thin fish with a tail like sword swimming on a coral reef. "Pa, brought them for us," Forest said, looking also their made-up portal, Blanche gave them the fish food she found on a yellow can and let the two feed the fishes. He snaked a hand down and gripped my ass for emphasis," we have a show to watch." Julian's eyes flickered up and he turned so I could look at the darkness in front of us. I whimpered but stopped when tiny blue orbs started to dance against the ground a great distance in front of us. Soon after obs of other soft colors flooded in. The more that joined I could see that it wasn't ground they were dancing on, it was some sort of a stream of water. They formed together and sank into the stream. The water lit up enough I watched as the small fish that lived inside it swam around them.

Once everything was clear, they prepared themselves. "Okay, let’s start, guys! Close your eyes, everyone! On the count of 3... 2... 1... Five little monkeys, humpy dumpy, mama called the doctor. And the doctor said, on the count of three, you should all be hiding. Those who are sitting, try standing up. I wanna be a dragonfly and twinkle star, haw haw, the carabao, the batuten." At first, they passed the teddy bear slowly, but then they began to speed up a bit, as if they were still afraid to touch the poor teddy bear. They almost dropped the teddy bear because of Kenzie’s quick handoff to the next person.

The moment we stepped inside the dimly lit space, his eyes lit up. “Mama, look at the fish! They’re flying!” I laughed softly as we walked through the glowing tunnels of water. Colorful schools of fish swam above and around us. Nevan pressed his small hands against the glass, watching a group of bright blue tangs dart past. For a while, he was full of energy, pointing at everything and asking a hundred questions. But after thirty minutes, I noticed the familiar signs. His steps slowed. His breathing became a little shallower.

I grin as Dhruv arches an eyebrow at me. "Nemo! Finding Nemo!" Sonia says and I barely hold my laughter together. Dhruv fakes his anger at her and then pulls her up in his arms. "Then you are Dory." He presses her nose slightly, making her giggle and my heart flies out of my chest. They look so cute together. Just–just like a family. No! What am I thinking? "Dory blue fiss." "Yes, she is the blue fish in the movie. Have you watched the movie?" Sonia shakes her head and he frowns. "Then how did you know the names?"

She makes a jerky motion and he jumps back, eyes wide in surprise. “Oh, is that confidence or mischief I hear?” “Both. Always both.” When they finally descend, everything changes. The world goes quiet below the blue water. The ton of bubbles coming out of their gear, the pretty way the light catches the pretty colors down there, it’s surreal and almost unearthly. Fish in every color imaginable swim by, unbothered by their presence. Gold fish, blue fish, yellow fish, pink fish, rainbow colored fish, black… stay away from those ones, they look dangerous.
