I chugged the drink and placed down the glass with a thud. “Am I drunk or are you seeing what I’m seeing?” I narrowed my eyes at some man who was now harassing the green head. “That’s Malfoy.” Storm’s jaw ticked. “It’s him.” I clenched my hands. Does he even know what this place is? I doubted that. Junior would’ve gotten him the moment he was recognized.

•CHAPTER 3 13 months ago Draco cautiously surveyed the narrow street, ensuring that no one was following him. This mission was to remain a secret, at least till he decides to make it open. He pulled his cloak tighter around himself as he made his way down an alleyway overgrown with algae. He watched children playfully throwing snowball-like balls and wrestling in their wolf forms. He observed a woman tending to an apple tree outside her house. Suddenly, he was seized and pulled off the alleyway, finding himself in a dark room with his supposed captor shutting the door behind him.

Calm, comfortable, even smug in the middle of their attention. “Friday, then?” he asked again, his eyes locking on mine. “I’ll let you know,” I said quickly, spinning on my heel before my jealousy betrayed me. --- Draco wasn’t in any of my classes—he was a business major. But somehow, he was always there. A single rose would appear on my desk before the morning lecture. I’d inhale its scent, smiling despite myself, before hiding it under the desk. My cheeks would flame as whistles and teasing erupted around me.

For three full days, I was given no food or water as punishment from Draco. On the night of the marking ceremony, he finally pushed the door open, walked over, and crouched in front of me. After lifting a glass of water to my lips, he said, "Don't get mad, Lea. I locked you away only because I was terrified of losing you." He kissed my forehead and continued, "I'll make it up to you once I'm firmly in power. You've always been the only one in my heart." I looked up to meet his eyes. "I'm the one who should apologize, Draco. You've treated me so well, and I shouldn't have been so foolish to think about leaving you."

I was so nervous since they didn't allow me to go up to my room and Lincoln stood behind me like he was trying to prevent me from escaping. My chest pounded hard as Draco walked three steps close to me, slowly with a thick smoke emanating from his nostrils and embracing my face. I coughed a bit and he suddenly cupped my jaw fiercely, I startled. "Do you really think you're so smart because you're quite young? Remember our agreement before I allowed you to resume school, right? So why the hell did classes end and you remained there, instead of alerting Lincoln and the driver, huh?" He angrily moved my jaw sideways, my face flinched as tears flowed down my cheeks.

It was then that someone finally broke down and yelled, "Draco has come back to life! He has risen from the dead!" In a split second, the packed courtyard cleared out completely, leaving behind only a few people whose weakened limbs refused to carry them. Those were left shivering violently on the spot. Draco finally realized what he had just done right then and froze dead in his tracks. "Draco is consumed by profound malice—hurry up and subdue him!" Malfoy really couldn't hold back all his emotions for Jacob who had just made a confession. Exactly thirty minutes ago, Malfoy had the unexpected surprise of visiting the Hornet's little hut in the slums of Mandrake Street. Responsibility, maybe. "I can't believe you're actually here, little girl,” he uttered while pulling me into a quick, friendly hug. "It's been, what... almost a year? You look different." I faintly laughed while pulling back. "Stop calling me little girl already, Draco. Anyway, different good or different bad?"
