The air held a heavy, oppressive quality, as if burdened by the weight of their malevolence. The scent of incense, a blend of earthy herbs and acrid undertones, permeated the room, intertwining with the electric charge of forbidden magic. A strange wind gathered around and the smell from the single piece of her cloth soon overpowered the nasty scent of the witch who was now performing her spell. Her smell left me astonished even, it wasn't this strong before. The notes of roses and honeysuckle with the warmth were ethereal. “What is that?” “That’s where the incense smell is coming from. I think it’s trying to mask the dead animal scent. I thought it was a rogue, but even rogues don’t smell this bad.” I don’t look away from the small pile of fragrant dried flowers and leaves smoldering on top of a pile of mud on my coffee table. A few broken eggs much like the one Aiden came out from were broken or smashed.

I responded to him, still feeling unsure of my response even when I was sure. "The Thurible is poisoned in-builtly." He said that causally without giving us any warnings or anything. Of course, none of us took it serious at first until we realized that he was not smiling at all. He was being deadly serious about it. "H..how is that...even possible?" I blurted out unbelievingly. "Part of the elements I perceive from this burner is the Dragon's blood." He furthered. "That contains dracorhodin which cause respiratory, heart issues and skin irritation?" Julian chipped in and Jordan nodded.

I could smell him. Vampires had an odd smell. They didn’t smell of death or life. Mostly this faint smell of iron, mixed with this simmering danger within. For Dragons, it was different. Still this dangerousness but it was more restrained. Wolves just had this wild smell. “Impressive,” Lucien said, stepping lightly over the fallen practice blades. “Your footwork’s improved.” “Didn’t ask for feedback.” He chuckled. “No, but I offer it freely when I’m impressed.”

Huh. “Dragon’s blood?” I asked. Brax looked at me and grinned. He tossed his drink back and spoke. “It’s what we call this drink. It’s a lot more potent than anything else you can find. Our elders usually keep it locked away from the younger generation, but Cam here has connections that can get him into the cellars.” Brax laughed. I turned my shot glass up and let the green liquid flow down my neck. It stung while going down. Wow… my eyes were watering. Both the guys laughed. I looked at Brax and then to the other guy. “Willow, this is my best friend, Cam. Cam, this is one of my oldest friends, Willow.” I leaned in to hug him. Our hug was only brief because Brax stepped in between us.

The earthy smell of crushed wolfbane mingled with the sweet aroma of mandrake root, creating a tantalizing mixture that calmed his mind, even if just for a moment. His hands moved gracefully, almost dance-like, as he stirred the concoction, carefully adding drops of moonstone essence.
