I whispered again. “Angel, you see? It’s nothing. Just relax. It’s just a book playing with your emotions.” I closed the book and placed it on the table, turning it to the back cover. My heartbeat picked up again. Then— I froze. There. A symbol. Small. Barely noticeable. At the back of the book. A dragon. My breath caught. It looked exactly like the one on Drake’s back. Not similar. Not close. The same. I froze.

Alicia decided she had to see if he was still conscious before determining if she could help him or not. One quiet step at a time, Alicia came upon the dragon. He was blue, purple, and green and his skin shone in the sunlight like oil. Being a girl who knew no fear, she carefully reached a hand out to touch him. After all, it was not every day that you got to touch a dragon, she thought. He didn’t open his eyes when she gently touched the side of his face. That gave her courage to examine him. Alicia had hopes to be a Doctor of Animals, but she knew that was just a dream. No one would take a woman seriously.

Uncle Lucifer said in a low rumbling growl. “Uncle?” Brair asked as we all drew back, fearing an angry Uncle Lucifer. Lucifer sighed, placing the book gently on the coffee table. “That book,” he said, his gaze distant, “details the war and the findings of Draconis Cor—a cult dedicated to preserving the Prophecy of the Dragon.” Uncle Lucifer explained bluntly. “What is the prophecy of the dragon?” Millie asked as she leaned over to look at the book.

Making a mental note to pick up some books by the author for Andreena. ‘Based on the best-selling book series by Jenson Spellmore Dragon’s Lovers,’ Andreena settled against me and we watched the show for a few minutes before the main dragon came onto the screen. He wasn’t in his human form and I heard my mate suck in a breath. She glanced over at me before looking at the screen and then back at me again. “What is it, sweet Andreena?” I asked, reaching for the remote and turning the volume down so that I could focus on her.

Alder raised both hands in surrender and answered quickly, fear trembling beneath his calm tone. “They took the book! The Book of Damned! Kael has it!” Varek’s grip tightened. “And what does that… insignificant relic… have to do with me?” Eloria choked, forcing out the words. “The Book contains rituals… forbidden ones… it can alter the battlefield… shift power… bind… or kill entities like—” She gasped. “—like you.” Varek’s expression twisted. His fingers tightened another fraction. For a moment Alder was sure the Grand Magestress was going to die.

Eric swallowed and looked at his sister who was actually staring at Kent almost dreamily. “What are your interests lately, Elise?” Kent asked her while they looked at each other. “Nothing in particular,” she answered truthfully but distractedly. “But I did have visions last night. I saw a dragon, a crest with a dragon and a battle.” “A battle?” Eric asked with curious eyes. “Not again!” Diana shook her head. “I don’t want to face another shrieking priestess!” she complained. “Well, that’s interesting.” Kent’s eyes twinkled with excitement.

There was a circle that was surrounded by huge rocks. We walked to the center of the circle and faced each other. She produced a dagger that had a dragon's head carved into the hilt and a golden chalice. She said, "Please hold out your hands." Anyway, while this book becomes the first book for dragon genre, it certainly wasn't my first book in the fantasy genre. The Dance of Fates: Bellatrix was my first fantasy book and I had finished it last year, 2020 so if you can go over my profile, you will find its completed version.
