Dragon Wars Book Novels & Stories

Hopefully you'll enjoy the next generation of Guardians as much as you enjoyed the first trilogy. Also, if you haven't tried it, I have a book out called The Arena. It's the first in the Elemental Dragons series. It's very different from this world of the Guardians. That book is filled with shifters and, you guessed it, dragons. That series is intended to have four books, one for each dragon.

The dragon blinked a final time and averted its eyes somewhere else as if it had heard her whisper and honored her plea. That was weird. Although the dragon had looked elsewhere, Evrah couldn't help but stare at it. She watched the destruction and chaos it brought to life. The obliteration it seemed to revel in. All of them seemed to be enjoying their devastating results. She had watched them chase folks down, spitting the elements and flame in the direction of her fellows. She had watched as they set everything ablaze, their massive wings fanning the flames as they burned the brightness and vibrancy of existence into nothingness.

But if I told them the truth, maybe they would take me back to Thornwood. “A werewolf.” I said as loud as I could muster. Collective gasps broke out around me. Gasps of shock and disdain. I dragged my gaze around, confused by their reaction. Wait, he did say this was the ‘Dragon Keep’. The memory of when I came across a book about Dragons rushed into my mind. “...dragons are egoistic creatures who think they're better than everyone. They hung our kind for sport. They're monsters, Eloise…” Mae had told me that day.

Scotch burned trail gold, obsidian devouring every swallow, power humming balanced edge. Night deepened, bodies orbiting with no collision, but collision was inevitable. His hand ghosted spine trace absent—shiver traitorous. "Sleep," he ordered, soft menace, pulling me into the lounge plush without resistance. No fuck tonight—torture purer, proximity dominance submission unspoken. Dreams twisted Rourke's snap, Darius's grin fading peace, Kenji's obsidian guarding shadows. Blood ties bound us, visceral, dark romance, an empire forged in violence and want.

I looked at her for a long moment, brushing her hair off her face. “Because if I came… I wouldn’t have left.” She blinked, emotions flashing in her gaze. “Will you still choose me when the fires come?” she asked. I leaned down, kissed her forehead. “I’ll burn the world if it means keeping you.” The next morning She left quietly. Not long after, my Beta stormed in. “Alpha,” Rhider said, urgency in his voice. “The dragons have crossed the border.” My blood turned cold. The war had begun. And this time, there would be no turning back.

I stepped out through the ruined gates and walked down the winding stone road leading away from the valley, the roaring inferno of the Vane estate casting a long, blood-red shadow behind me. The first step of my vengeance was complete, but the grand continent stretched out far beyond these borders, filled with other noble houses and hidden forces that shared the guilt of my past. My journey had only just begun. The world was about to learn what happens when a dragon wakes up hungry.

I stared at him in confusion. "What do you mean?" He sat back down on the stool, studying me steadily, "when the mother Witch and the last dragon leave Paria and its lands there will be a war, lots of people will die," he began. "A war? I thought that will only happen when the boy is of age and comes to take his place?"my heart was beating. Although our lives were not perfect under the rule of our stupid king at least we still had peace and our children grew to adult hood and then became old, like the cycle of life proclaims.

Imagining he would move forward and pull me between his teeth. Devour me as all the rumors had claimed. Dragons were maneaters. Twisted and crude depictions of deities. Appointed by the devil. But I thought it was all hyperbole. I never thought for a moment the Drogos family could shift into dragons. I thought it was a metaphor for the horror they could inflict. The Drogos family were like dragons. Not that they were dragons. I don't think I could ever look at Thane the same again. He was a monster. A creature of the deep. And everyone knew.

She responded without moving, and in the same mood as mine. I do not know what she meant by those words of hers; was it that his father did not actually read it, or was it the fact that these poetic lyrics of freedom and history inscribed in this book is ought to mislead people? I wondered as certain words from the book overlapped in my mind; dragons, enemy, slay, love, harmony, and peace. I read it myself, and I can’t even keep my stomach from turning from the detail that it never mentioned dragons being the first rulers of this world. And they knew us as some hollow and untamed creatures that wreck people’s houses and destroy their rich lands.
