When she turned back, her eyes were still raw, but there was fire there too.
She crossed the room, opened her satchel, and pulled something out.
An old, leather-bound journal. The edges were frayed, the pages yellowed, but even from across the room, I could feel the pulse of power emanating from it.
I frowned. “What is that?”
Aurelia’s hands trembled slightly as she held it up. “This,” she said softly, her voice hoarse from crying, “is the key to Draco’s failure.”
