Fresh hay and dirt smelled in the air, which made me feel strangely at ease. We were watching a group of ducklings follow their mother when we heard a buzzing sound on Dax's phone. As he nonchalantly removed the phone from his pocket, I immediately looked at him. I was amused by his behavior. His expression was expressionless as he read the message; his brow did not furrow or rise in response to what he was reading. "Who's that?" I asked, tilting my head curiously. It wasn’t like I was trying to pry into his personal matters. I was just mildly intrigued.

I asked. Jackson rolled his eyes in that condescending way that I absolutely hated. “You wouldn't know unless you tried it out, now would you?” I gave him a nod because I knew we were doing the D-E-F today no matter what as his plan to completely disarm me one more time. “I suppose you are right.” I muttered. . . . “Mommy, look! DUCKS!” Kelsey pointed at the ducks in the park pond. “Let's feed them!”

We sat there a few feet from him, watching him as he carefully scanned the floating rubber ducky's, trying to find the one's with the biggest numbers. He picked out the first one as curssed under his breath, causing us to chuckle at him. Then he proceeded to pick up a second one, he picked it up with anticipation in his face and looked at the number underneath the duck, then lights swore under his breath again. He tossed the rubber duck back in the tin tub and sighed, then leaned over the tub and carefully scanned each duck. "Come on Matt, it can't Be that hard! Just pick a duck." Damien chuckled at his friend.

Sia looks at Type and smiles. "So you plan on protecting my daughter from ducks?" "Ducks are fucking spawns of hell if one comes near her the entire damn species will be extinct. I'm not even kidding. Fuck those damn birds." Sia bursts out laughing and shakes her head. Type scowls at her and she smiles. "Quack." Sia wipes the tears from her eyes, stomach cramping from how hard she was laughing.

Cried my eyes out when they called me an ugly duckling. Now? I turned my back and walked away. Riley was right there, following me. "So, it's official? You're done with him?" he asked.
