Emily scooped up the wagging pup and shoved it toward Godric, who barely had time to grasp the puppy before she embraced Cedric. Godric glowered as she placed a light, excited kiss on Cedric's face. The poor rake was blushing deeply by the time she released him and reclaimed her gift from Godric. The puppy's pink tongue lapped her chin as she held it up to her face. Never in all of Godric's life had he been jealous of a dog. Cedric ruffled his hand through the puppy's fur. "She's an English foxhound. Although Josephine had not reared a pet before, she could differentiate all the dogs' breeds. Suddenly, a mischievous Husky approached Josephine from the front. It raised its front paws and pounced on her. Josephine was caught off guard and fell onto the ground. The Husky pressed its paws on her shoulders as it licked her face. Josephine did not dodge in time, and a ticklish sensation was felt. Josephine grabbed the Husky by its neck and tried to pull it away.

The smell was stronger now—unwashed fur, hunger, and exhaustion. I pushed through a final line of bushes and stopped dead. The dog was huddled near the base of an old oak. It was a husky, but she looked terrible. Her coat was matted with burrs and mud, and I could see the sharp outline of her ribs through her thinning fur. She looked up as I approached, her bright blue eyes wide with a mix of fear and defiance. She didn't run. She stood her ground, her hackles rising as she stared at the massive wolf looming over her.

"Hey! get back inside before someone sees yo-" They all froze up facing each other. Dylan, Theo, and the huge brown and white husky that froze with one leg in the air. Dylan stared down at the husky and his mouth slowly fell open, the soft looking hair that swayed in the air, its honey brown eyes and skin color that matched his perfect type.
