Game over.
I glance around desperately for any sign of Logan stepping forward, any hint that this is part of some trick, some test, some play I can manipulate, but the room is empty now, the music distant, and I am completely alone with the men guiding me.
The basement door looms ahead, heavy, dark, a shadow swallowing the light around it. The guards push me inside, closing it behind me with a final, resounding thud that echoes in my chest, and I stumble forward, my back hitting cold stone. The darkness is thick, almost suffocating, and the damp smell of the dungeon fills my senses. Panic clawing at my throat, I press my palms to the rough walls, realizing the trap I have walked into too late.
