Dylan knew he was poisoning Alpha Kingston and that was enough to eliminate him but he didn't want Alpha Kingston to die with a good name. That would not be beneficial to him because he was a stranger to the pack and there was Beta Axel who could become the Alpha. Dylan needed allies by his side and luckily for him, he met Elder Sawyer who was an insider and could help him attain his goals.
