The others seem interested too, almost holding their breath in anticipation of the answer. “I was thinking we could name them after my parents?” I pause, looking down nervously. “If you all can agree to that?” “What we’re their names?” Alexander asks, stroking my hair. “Maria and Johnathan.” I whisper, the names seeming so surreal as I say them, I hadn’t heard them in a long time.
