"Go away. Go away you damn dogs." Looking around again for something I could use to distract the wolves, my head snaps back when I hear a loud sound echoing throughout the abandoned bunker. It sounds like something heavy and metal came crashing down. A second later after the sound, I hear the sound of wolves running. "Rebecca," I say. "Fuck!" I have to stay low and silent for a few more minutes to make sure the wolves are really gone. Once those few minutes are up, I run out.

"Get over it," He let out as tears gathered in his eyes, he wiped them off, there was no use crying when he was the reason things ended with Jordan and he was the one that told him to stay away, everything that was happening was mostly just his fault, so he didn't have anyone to blame, if only they could just live him and accept him the way he is then his remaining time on Earth would have been blissful, he rolled over and coiled himself up, sadness being his only company, there was not a single light in his life, not even a small glow, it was dark everywhere and he couldn't see the way out of this... ****

Crickets chirped, and somewhere a stream whispered over stone. “How are you feeling now?” Caelum asked once they reached the clearing. Eira took a breath. The noise had softened, but not vanished.

All I could think was this is it. And then, through the haze, I heard the smallest sound — a soft, frightened voice. “Mommy?” My daughter was standing in the doorway, wide-eyed, frozen. I tried to speak, but no sound came out — just a rasp, a whisper of her name. It was barely audible, but it was enough. He turned his head toward her, just for a second — and that second saved my life.

Faro was holding Samson as I looked up at Eros’s face and slowly placed my smaller hand into his warm palm. Closing my eyes tightly, a whoosh of air passed my face, and once my feet were planted on the ground, I opened my eyes, released Eros's hand, and said, “WOW!”

The grey static that formed its body started to swirl, drawn toward the three of us as if we were a massive magnet. ​"The Sovereign Gene was a cage," the Echo said, its voice now a singular and clear tone that vibrated in my marrow. "But you have turned the cage into a conductor. You are giving the Earth a voice. Do you have any idea what it will say first to the people who walk upon it?" ​"It will say it is tired of being a harvest," I said, my voice growing stronger as I accepted the surge of power instead of fighting it.

She was curled on the ground, consciousness too fragmented to stand, desperately trying to integrate with collective that couldn't accept her damage. Damian knelt beside her, and I heard him speaking through his audio feed: "Hey. I know you. You're Elara's other self. The one who escaped Geneva before. You can escape again. Come with me. Let me help you." E-2's voice was barely coherent: "Can't escape. Need to connect. Need to be part of collective. Alone is... alone is breaking me. Everything is fragments without connection."
