"If you want her back," Vane said, looking into the pit, "we have to go where the power began. Not the Seventh Circle. Not the Eighth."
"Then where?" Elara asked, her eyes turning a cold, dark iron.
"The Ninth," Vane said. "The center of the Earth. Where the only way to survive is to become a demon without a soul."
