Seeing her reaction Armaan was happy but his self-control again gave him trouble. She looked up and their eyes met, many unspoken emotions were residing in their eyes. There were many unsaid words were there. Time was halted for them. She was feeling numb and was not able to understand why she was having such a silent but pleasant feeling. Her world seems to be stopped. With an announcement from the dance floor, she came back to her senses.

"She cannot sustain both Jade's memories and her own identity anymore. The strain has become too much for her system." Echo's eyes opened briefly and for the first time since I had known her, they looked like a child's eyes instead of an adult trapped in a small body. Just Echo, purely herself without Jade's memories bleeding through. "Mama," she whispered, her voice so faint I had to lean close to hear it. "I am tired. Can I sleep now?" "Yes baby, you can sleep. I have another project to handle." My stepping away hurt her heart. She stared at me, dazed. Lauren extended her trembling hand, and it hung in midair.
