The third was a 20 minute bus ride from campus. Thursday morning she texted Edward: "I'll take the room. when can I see it?" His reply was immediate: "Tonight. 7 PM. I'll send you the address." The converted-factory building in Fells Point was red brick, with big windows. Industrial but clean. The third floor was where Edward lived. In jeans and a grey t-shirt, he opened the door, his hair still a little damp as if he’d just showered. No white coat. No stethoscope. Just… normal.

I gave them a sheepish grin before following Mulligan and the others into the building. We stepped into a dark room that almost looked like a conference center. There was a long table in the center of the room with a projector on the far side of the room hanging on the wall. The lights were completely off, and it almost felt ghostly. Mulligan led us out of the room, and we entered the long hallway that occupied many doors. We continued down the hallway until we reached a large set of doors that I assumed led to the bank lobby.

I starts with a great deal of formality as Sinclair leads me into a room that is a strange mix of auditorium and conference chamber, with the kind of stadium seating all around that looks more like…I don’t know, a college lecture hall? But instead of there being a stage at the front of the room, the seating is on three sides of it, with an elaborate table on the fourth side of the room and a narrow empty space at the center. Sinclair seats himself at the center of elaborate table, with me to his right and his father to his left. I look behind me and grin when I see Cora and Roger come into the room, dressed in the traditional formal clothing of nobility of Moon Valley.

“Apparently so.” Once they got out of the carriage, they took their boxes into the Commons where Mrs. Monroe was hosting a lunch for ten other women. The large room was two stories high. The staircase led to a hallway where administrative offices were located. The lower level was a meeting place for students or faculty. Today, it was the center of Mrs. Monroe’s luncheon. She had placed a variety of appetizers, main dishes and a large three layer cake in the center of the table with the words “Congratulations to Mrs. Edwards on her son’s graduation.”

But the taut line of his jaw made me wonder if that was all it was. Edwin didn’t respond right away. The lock clicked, and he pushed open the door, turning on a fluorescent light that flickered harshly as it came to life. “This is my old training room,” he said, stepping aside and gesturing for me to enter. My mouth hung open as I stepped past him. Whereas the rest of the mansion had been neat and tidy thanks to Hadley’s hard work, the room that Edwin revealed to me was large and dusty. It had clearly gone unused for years.

She paused at the reception desk, steadying her breath before asking, "May I know which room Mr Jamie Anderson is staying in?" "Just a moment, ma'am," the receptionist replied, her fingers moving swiftly over the keyboard. "Umm... Mr Anderson is in room 809, on the second floor," she said, lifting her gaze. But Edith was already walking away, her footsteps quick and determined leaving the receptionist watching her retreat with a slight frown. Panicked, Edith came to a stop in front of room 809. Her hand lifted, hovering inches from the door, hesitation locking her in place.

She walked across the lobby area toward him. “Mr. Maxwell is ready for you. I’ll show you the way.” He continued to smile and turned back down the hall he had come from and Meredith smiled at the woman at the desk who smiled back, then Meredith followed behind Henry. He led her to a corner office and he knocked, then opened the door for Meredith to enter. The room was similar to Brayden’s office although it was decorated in all black and whites with more of those weird paintings distributed on the walls. Edward also had a small bar in his office and Meredith wondered if that was standard for these sorts of offices. There was a short bookcase along a wall under three large odd paintings.

Saturday . . . Eddie Balsom was escorted by a guard to the visiting area. From what he understood from the other prisoners, there were booths with telephones in the visiting room. Rows of booths with bullet proof glass between the prisoner and their visitor. Since no one had ever visited Eddie he had never been in the room. It was exactly what the guys had described with white dingy walls.

The hoverlimo is out front.” “Hoverlimo?” Nyla whispered as they headed outdoors. “Don’t even get me started.” Mason rolled her eyes. The ride over was filled with Veronica’s nervous chatter. She didn’t need anyone else to participate in the conversation, which was good because the other three were content to just sit in silence. Edmond had gone earlier and was already at the venue, an old opera house that had been transformed into a great hall. Nyla was awed when she stepped into it. The high ceiling was painted in intricate gold, making the room glow.
