Camon excused himself. Alphonse slumped to the couch. He pulled his hair, trying to relieve some stress, but it did no good. He felt heavy and weird. He wanted to vomit… he could feel the wave of agony coming, and he did not want to welcome it. He could not welcome it. Alphonse is the head of the family. It would not be in his best interest to fall first at times like this. No one would be able to keep their stand when the very foundation would fall apart first. Alphonse took a deep breath.

I am happy that one day, he’ll be the one to rule Alvannia after my father. Valerian wore a long black jacket over a waistcoat that was buttoned down. A black long-sleeved shirt underneath hugged his skin. Unlike the other black parts of the jacket, the top collar, the lapels, his cuffs, the buttons, and the center fronts of the coat were striking gold. His long black hair fell graciously on his shoulders. “Who’s that?” I asked pointing at a man that walked beside my father as he approached us. “Oh, that’s King Iyrick of Meldonis. This year’s ball will be hosted in his palace. I’m guessing he came to personally escort us to his kingdom.” Valerian answered, waving at the unfamiliar old man.

With a polite nod, I took the guy’s hand. His hold on my waist was feather light, “I’m Edward Van Houten. My father, Rigel Van Houten, commands Alpha Ryker’s military. I’m sure you’ve heard of him.” The way he said it made it sound as though it were fact, and not him wanting to brag. That was the only reason I bothered entertaining the conversation. “I’m actually new to the island, so I don’t know who your father is.” Edwards brow lifted, visible beneath his translucent mask, “Is that so? How interesting. My coven and I traveled across the island for tonight’s ball. Such is common practice here on Lunar Isle.”

I said while I handed her him. "Ye-es Alp-ha. His na-me is Nick." She said while she wiped her eyes. Boring name. "Okay. Well now his name is Ekon. It means strong." I smiled while I gave her nod and walked away. I took a look around and smiled. Alpha Aphrodite. I smiled and walked towards the old Alphas estate. First female as an Alpha. She worked for him and left when things got bad, but she knew all along." He extended his arm to grab the journal and flip through its pages. His forehead furrowed deeper with each name. As soon as he came across the name Alcott, he froze. "This. this can't be right." "Well, she said Alcott was Edward's cleanup guy," I said matter-of-factly. "And that this Alcott might be the person who's been spilling information to Celine."

His ceremonial Alpha cloak draped over broad shoulders, ancient pack runes glittering along its edges. “Dad,” I greeted him as we stopped before him. “I didn’t expect you to wait up.” “I heard there was quite a scene at the banquet,” he replied meaningfully. “Marcus called ahead.” Of course he had. Nothing happened in pack territories without Alpha Nathan learning of it immediately. Edward stepped forward smoothly. “Alpha Nathan,” he began, extending his hand respectfully. “Edward Wells of Northern Crescent Pack. It’s an honor to meet you properly, sir.” My father assessed Edward critically before accepting the handshake. “Alpha Benjamin’s son. I’ve heard much about you.”

" said the man . " Brother Edward ! " said Evelyn with a smile and rushed to hug him . " As far as I know , no one would dare trouble the great mr Alonzo Brown . People aren't that brave . " said Edward with a smirk then grabbed Evelyn and held her in his arms . " You brat better keep your voice down . If others hear it , I won't be able to walk freely with my daughter . " said Alonzo with a serious tone . " Evelyn ! How cute you are today ! This new dress looks so nice on you . " said Edward with a smile .

Elliott said, thwarting Edward’s demands with a ridiculous tone. “I am not just the alpha king’s younger brother, Lord Elliott. I am Edward Ainsworth, the crown prince of Wahala kingdom,” Edward said through gritted teeth. This was the first time Edward had spoken with anger and this was a side Mia hoped to see more of. Xavier had a dark smirk on his face, proud of his brother at this moment. Happy to see him finally unleashing his scary side.
