“I was told that they called you a demon.” Elena Valdez said, glaring at the Alpha whose eyes darkened with amusement. The man stared at his mate, the cop who was here to put him behind bars, hungrily. “I didn’t get the title for no reason, little wolf.” Alpha Alvize D'Caprio said, smirking as he approached her. His hot breath hit her neck as he breathed in her scent, pinning her against the table she stood in front of, making it harder for her to focus, caging her between his arms. “And you, neonata, are mine.” *** Abandoned under the excuse of protecting him. Alpha Alvize goes to New York City for a revenge that would shake the ground of wolves. Would Elena be the angel to stop him? Or would she too, crumble under the ashes of his anger?

10 out of 10 Crystal one of the few books I have read that was UN-PUT-DOWN-ABLE It kept me on my toes with the suspense and love between Elena and the alpha and so well written, the chapters flowed into each other Had a bit of Alpa Nathan-esque to the story ... Congratulations

Chapter 1
Elena:“What in the world happened here?” I asked, voicing out my confusion as I reached the case area, frowning at the sight of the number of people who were there. The place was packed with people and that was not something that was considered normal. But putting in my mind the fact that it was the highway, it was very much expected. The officers couldn’t touch the body until they got all the evidence that could lead to who did it, though I doubted that they would be able to find anything. Therefore, that meant that nobody could move it for a while. Flashes of cameras filled their area as paparazzi took their shots. Helicopters tried to capture whatever they could about the case, wanting to make it public, and that was not something that we wanted. We have been keeping things concealed and vague for a reason, but this was not going to help.It was a while past midnight and seeing as there were this many people outside, I knew that things were going to get messy. I got out of my ca

Chapter 2
Alvize:“What do you mean that I’m going to be working with this man?” She asked, snapping at her boss as both of them were inside his office. Viktor and I were sitting outside as we waited, though I could hear every single word they said. I chose not to react. I didn’t care enough to do so. The woman was not going to be working with me for long anyway. It was only a matter of time before she chose to just drop the case. “Unfortunately, Elena, at this point I have no time to negotiate with you about this. You are going to work with this man, because if not, we are going to lose the case.” He said, clearly trying to talk some sense into her. The thing was, I was not here to negotiate, nor was I here asking. If she didn’t want to work with me, then she would lose the case. That was that. Either way, whether it was losing it to me or to another federal agency, her boss knew that they were screwed. I was more 'approachable', and I wasn't searching to be a hero, I could leave that title t

Chapter 3
Elena:“You do realize that things can get messed up between the two of you if you keep having this attitude, Elena, right?” Drake said, making me frown. The man was dropping me off at the Estate, and now seeing that he was actually trying to talk some sense into me because I was annoyed by coming here, I was more than willing to snap his neck.“Geez, thank you for telling me, Drake.” I said, rolling my eyes at the man who shrugged his shoulders, knowing for fact that I was hating this. Had it not been for Mr. Joseph, the last thing that I was ever going to consider was working with a mafia boss. “I was just giving you a friendly warning. You know, knowing you, you can try doing the dumbest things sometimes, and that is not something that I want you doing, especially not with a man like him.I had to fight back, rolling my eyes at his words, instead, I looked at the house as we approached, watching as the men opened the gates for us to enter. Each of the men had their guns on their h

Chapter 4
Alvize:I walked out of the office, ignoring the clench that I felt in my chest as my wolf grew annoyed by my attitude toward the woman who was supposed to be my mate.I didn’t understand the joke that was in this, but I knew one thing. It was NOT funny, not one bit.“Boss.” Viktor said, snapping me out of my daze. I shook my head in question, waiting for what he had to say before he looked at the front door where they brought the body.Joseph didn’t really agree to this, but that was the least of my concerns. Their people weren’t going to be checking on one of my pack members. If anything, they were lucky enough that I agreed to have one of ‘them’ working on this with me. I nodded and walked toward the body which was covered in white sheets. Removing it, I looked at the man closely, studying his wide eyes, noticing the marks that were on his neck. He was not drained of blood, that would have taken a lot more time. The man was choked to death, but for what reason, I didn’t know. “S

Chapter 5
Elena:I frowned as Drake entered the house and took pictures of the writing that was on the wall.I looked at Alvize who was speaking to Viktor, both men whispered something between them, and excusing myself from Drake’s side, I walked toward the men.“I am going to ask one very direct question, and I want a direct response.” I said, lowering my voice to one just above a whisper. “Do you have any idea about what is going on here?” Viktor looked at Alvize who didn’t say a word as he looked at me in silence. His eyes met mine and I looked at the man, studying his expression, trying to read whatever he wanted to tell me, wanting to understand what was going on. But nothing made sense to me. The man just confused me.“There are fire marks here.” Drake said, breaking our conversation before it even started. I looked at the men with a raised eyebrow before turning to face Drake who stood under the ink. He was careful not to touch it, but looking down at what he was referring to, I frowned

Alvize I took everything in me to ignore the pain in my chest as my heart clenched while I walked away from the house where my mate was. She chose to enter the house, ignoring my presence as I knew that it only angered her.I knew that it was only a matter of time before I either got intimate with or chose to reject her. However, for now, I was not ready for either option, if anything, just thinking about this gave me a headache. Viktor frowned as he saw me heading towards the car and following me. He raised an eyebrow before getting inside with me.“What’s going on?” He asked, and I shook my head. He didn’t know that she was my mate, and I didn’t intend to tell him until at least I was sure about what I was going to do.“We need to go to Ezra, if Ianos is back, then he has to know about it.” I said and he nodded as he headed toward the driver’s seat. Being Alpha and Pakhan, I rarely ever drove when with my men. Though I personally didn’t see it as an issue, I liked driving; but I k

Chapter 7
Elena:I had to fight back letting out a low growl as I walked inside the house to see Drake. Alvize’s words played in my head and his attitude angered me even more than I thought that I would be. The man was rude as hell, and no matter how much I tried to ignore it, I couldn’t bring myself to do so. And the worst part was, he saw that as normal, and what annoyed me more was that I couldn’t believe that I was giving him the chance to be as rude as he was. My wolf wasn’t allowing me to put a complete stop to his attitude, being his mate, she tried to force or convince me to submit to him as a mate, and that wasn’t something that I liked. The man knew how to taunt a woman, and I was never one to show my expression or my feelings, it was part of my job to learn not to. However, with him, I couldn’t help but feel pain inside, that pain reflected on my face no matter how hard I tried hiding it. And it annoyed me that I knew that Alvize could see it. It wasn’t something that I wanted, if an

Chapter 8
Alvize:“And hello, to my little princess.” I said, smiling as I carried my niece in my arms. Lia smiled as she looked at me, crossing her arms over her chest, watching as I handled her daughter with so much care. It was one of the only things that brought me back to this house, the little girl’s presence. Her green eyes met mine, and I couldn’t help the smile that formed on my lips when she giggled.“How are you, Alvize? Lia asked, making me smile. I wrapped my arm around her, pulling her for a hug as I held her daughter in my left arm. Her little child was half the size of my bicep, and that was something that I couldn’t help but admire. How can a child so small be so vulnerable and yet be so enchanting and loving? I didn’t know, and in all honesty, I didn’t care about finding out.“I’m fine, little wolf and you?” I said, knowing that she didn’t like the nickname that much. “I am a mother, and yet, you’re still calling me a little wolf?” She asked, raising an eyebrow.I chuckled a

Elena: “What did you find?” Mr. Joseph asked his tone, somewhat harsher than usual. If anything, I could tell that he was angry, though what he was angry about I couldn’t understand, especially considering the fact that it wasn’t at the office and I couldn’t ask Drake, and considering the fact that he was with me throughout most of the day, I was thankful that he wasn’t going back to the office. He had a few things to tend to before that. So, at least you wouldn’t be having the lash out of Mr. Joseph. I knew that he did not like me being at Alvize's mansion, especially considering the fact that he could not supervise what we were doing. He knew for a fact that Alvize would limit my connection with him, and though that was something that was going to give me somewhat of a freedom to work, it was not something that he liked. As my supervisor and boss, he knew that he had to be in control of what I did and what I did not do. It was what made him believe that he was superior to me. “As

Chapter 10
Alvize: “Took you long enough.” Ezra said, crossing his arms over his chest as he looked at Elena and I, clearly playing the act of being a tease right now. And that was the last thing that I needed to deal with. The man knew that for fact, but having heard from me about Elena, he somewhat grew curious about who she was. Elena frowned in confusion, looking between the two of us before pinching the bridge of her nose. “I could barely deal with one. Now, I have to deal with another. Great more of the D’Caprio family.” Elena said sarcastically, and I rolled my eyes. Ezra smirked, fighting back a chuckle as he looked at the two of us. “That explains why you were annoyed earlier.” Ezra said, and Elena raised an eyebrow. The woman was easily taunted and that was something that I noticed. And though I did find it attractive. It also came as annoying. The way she looked at me, and the way she looked at my brother raising an eyebrow, waiting for us to do something wrong. Her gun was in her
