about that future wedding. Eight years had passed, and I was still waiting for the day that promise would come true. But now, I had decided to go home. I wouldn't wait any longer. The car moved silently through the night before stopping in front of my villa. Mason unfastened his seatbelt, apparently assuming the tension between us had already passed. Out of habit, he leaned toward me, trying to kiss me. I raised my hand and pressed it lightly against his shoulder. "I'm tired, Mason."

As I stared I wondered within me what could possibly make news on such a beautiful day. “Oh! It is the 18th of May” I said to myself as I smiled. This day was of course very special to me and most especially to my best friend Courtney because it was her birthday. Courtney and I had known each other since we were five. They first moved into our neighborhood shortly after Courtney's father(Mr. Williams) lost his job as a bartender because of his ill mannered and insolent behavior 13years ago. On this very special day, I already had Courtney's birthday present well figured out and as always, I was so certain she'd love what I had got her.

ME: Just typical? I pressed send almost immediately and hoped that he would respond just as fast as I replied now. I didn’t like his reply of just one word and a period but I’m trying to stay alive and hopeful. I began to think he’s losing reception and that he had already typed a continuation to that but it just wasn’t sending. My phone buzzed again just after a minute and I’m more than excited to read August’s reply. AUGUST: Yeah. I went out on a movie date with Rachel.

“This one’s mine.” Inside was a single sheet of paper. No threats. No games. Just a list. A timeline of August’s life moments only he should remember. Some were innocent: “age six, won the spelling bee.” Others were more personal: “age fourteen, kissed Liam behind the chapel.” “age seventeen, burned the first manuscript.” Each line ended the same way: You were never alone. August’s hands trembled. His knees went weak. At the very bottom, one last sentence was scrawled in a different ink:

“When do we need to leave?” “Um, in about fifteen minutes,” August glanced at his watch. But with one close look, Aiden immediately shook his head. “I don’t think your watch is right.” “What?” “Last I checked…” Aiden dug under the pillows to find his phone and held it up, “it’s eleven forty-five, not eleven fifteen.” “Oh no,” August’s soul seemed to leave his body. “Oh no, no, no, no, no.” “We’re not late, are we?” Aiden’s eyes went wide.

Kath's night was ruined already. "Hey who is that?" Nana said. "He's coming closer." Melissa said. "Do you guys know him." Nana added. "Just send him away if he ever comes close here in our table I'm not really in the mood." Kath said. "Hello ladies, I'm sorry if I'm interrupting,I'm just here to apologies for what happened earlier." August said. Nana then ask, "And you are?" August then quickly replied, "My friends made a huge trouble for you guys and I'm very sorry. My name is August Wright–"
