Like clockwork, Aaron emerged through the brush a moment later, dark hair slightly disheveled from the branches. His gaze immediately dropped to my side. "You're slowing down." He observed. "I'm admiring the scenery," I shot back. His eyes narrowed. "Your ribs reopened just a few days ago, Xavier." "They're fine." I couldn't help the eye roll. Aaron stepped closer. Too close. The forest suddenly felt smaller. "You're lying." He muttered. "Maybe," I said lightly.

Very quickly, Aaron arrived with the car, and Xante got into it. As soon as she got into the car, Aaron joked, "Xante, your ex-boyfriend might not be the important person he thinks he is, but his phone does hold the power to a lot of mega-companies' resources. Are you sure it's okay to turn him down like that?" Xante gave him a side-eye. "Should I introduce you to him, then? You can exchange all the resources you like with him once you two are together." "No way! I'm straight, okay?!"

My head bobbed up and down. "I'm sorry." Imer whispered to me before he threw me inside a black car. ** AARON "Christian." I smiled at my Beta, and he smiled back at me before we shook hands. "Aaron, my man... A handshake won't do. Come here give your baby a hug!" He grinned. I scrunched my nose up but gave him a hug anyways. "How've you been? Heard something special happened to you." He wiggled his eyebrows. "I found my mate." I grinned at him.

Darrow said. “Hallec, choose two gammas to take charge, I need you and Tiana with me. We have to get those pups back here somehow,” Xavier said. Cole watched as Aaron watch with a confused frown. He silently noted how Xavier's words might seem like some sort of coded messages to an ordinary human. “Yes, alpha,” the other man replied, turned, and left. As soon as the men moved away, Aaron beckoned to Jason to come closer. “Jason, meet Aaron, he is one of my men. Aaron, meet Jason, we work together,” Cole introduced.

Charlotte nodded and went upstairs to get dressed. Azraiel fished out his phone from his pocket and texted one of his men, James, who had been searching for Austin Jones and Emmanuel Reed. Any news? I visited the clubs and bars Austin used to frequent. He hasn’t been at any of them in the last six months, James replied. Okay. Keep looking. Set a trap if you need to. It's a fairy," Jonah whispers. Aaron cuts his eyes to Dex, and Dex whispers, "She's manipulating nature. She blends in with the trees." Rolling his eyes sarcasticly, Aaron says, "That's phenomenal. Okay, I'm going back to finish what I was doing." Dex blocks him, whispering, "She's a witch."

Aaron replied nonchalantly, a smirk playing on his lips. "Ugh, you're such a jerk, you dickhead," Luke grumbled, clearly irritated. Aaron couldn't help but relish in the sight of his friend's animated annoyance. It was moments like these that reminded him of the authenticity he shared with his friends—Luke, Jack, and Edward. Speaking of Edward, it had been years since their relationship had shifted, him becoming Aaron's secretary and managing his own team. As Aaron's thoughts began to drift, Luke's voice snapped him back to the present.
