KNOX Kai and I were sprawled out in my room doing important work. Important work had us glued to my laptop screen. LunaLust’s latest stream was playing, and neither of us had spoken in minutes—too busy watching and melting. Fuck. She was sexy. There was just something about her that reeled me in so deep I couldn’t care to detach. “Bro!” Kai muttered, “Why couldn’t the moon goddess give me a mate like that? What kind of injustice is this? He slowly rose up as the silence continued, everyone staring at us in completely, and utter, shock. "Hey, I'm Kai. Kai Dixon." He greeted to Sebastian, holding out his hand. Sebastian slowly brought up his hand and shook it hesitantly "Sebastian. Harrison." Kai's eyes widened "That's you? Hey Matt, guess who it is." Matt huffed angrily, keeping his scowl on Sebastian. "Kai! Get your ass over here now!" Morello whispered fiercely, trying hard not to look at us in the form Sebastian and I were in. I would expect this scolding from Sarah, but she still stood there, unable to move or close her mouth.

The older man's hand was cold, it was big and cold. "Hello," Kai ignored his temperature. "My name is Alexander Kai. Uhm, you can call me Kai." Augustine said hi and shook their hand. After that,he sat back on his seat. The table was for four, so Sharon and Kai also took a seat. They sat across each other, Tyler was on Kai's left, while Augustine was on his right. Tyler ordered the staffs to transfer the food from the other table to theirs. After that, Tyler and Augustine talked about business. Sharon listened and took notes of the important details while Kai remained silent the whole time.

We were rudely interrupted from our passionate making out session when we heard someone clear his throat. It was Alpha Lucan with Dr. Ingrid ! “Dad !” Kai exclaimed and ran towards him to hug him like a small kid. “I missed you so much, Dad,” he mumbled. “Me too, Kai. I see you found your mate,” Alpha Lucan smiled. “The one and only,” Kai grinned. “He was always the one !” he claimed. “So you got your ex back, you lucky bastard,” Alpha Lucan smugged.

Jaxon’s tone stayed neutral, but something flickered in his eyes. Ryu raised an eyebrow. “That guy? Leonard’s cold as ice. Don’t know what Kai sees in him.” Jaxon gave a short laugh. “Exactly. Zero personality. Walking business meeting.” Ryu smirked. “Cold or not, he’s got that whole powerful vibe. Kai’s lucky.” Jaxon rolled his eyes. “Sure.” His phone buzzed. Kai calling. He picked up. “Hey, where are you?” Kai’s voice was excited. “Out with my guy! Can’t talk long—call you later!”

She always noticed. "You seem tense, darling," Elena said, tone deceptively warm. "Something wrong?" Sasha shook her head too quickly. "No. Just…surprised to see Kaia." Elena arched a brow. "Kaia?" "Yes," I jumped in smoothly. "I go by Kaia. Short for…Kaila." "How…unusual." smiled wider. "So are a lot of things about me." The table fell into a tense silence. Elena reached for her glass of wine. "Well, it's good to meet new people. Sasha tends to surround herself with predictable types."
