“Then who was?” The ceiling split open. A metal platform descended slowly from above. On it stood six figures dressed in black. But they weren’t carrying guns. They were wearing Crown implants around their necks. Their eyes were completely black. Lucien’s expression changed. “Those aren’t soldiers.” Seraphina felt their minds through the Crown. She staggered. “They’re connected.” “How many?” Lucien asked. She closed her eyes. “Six here.” Then her face went pale. “Six hundred outside.”

I try to get up, I try to stand but there’s not enough movement and I just end up flailing like an idiot. Someone snarls behind me and I roll over seeing one of them, one of the Wolves. He bares his teeth stepping nearer. He has a huge gash down the side of his head, blood is pouring out. His eyes are flashing with anger. It looks like he’s about to turn, to let his inner Wolf out. Something seemed to be on his mind. “What’s wrong, Dad?” Sasha set down her kitchen whisk and wiped her hands, her tone resigned. “What do you think? It’s about Lorenzo.”

Ricky asked. “Huh um no they are blue; you should get your eyes checked,” Jade said shaking her head. She wasn’t sure why the boy was so interested in her eyes. “No, they are gray Jade.” He challenged. “There’s only ever been one person with your eye color. You should be happy that you’re different.” “Whatever, I have to go,” Jade said rolling her eyes. She was hoping her Aunt was already waiting for her. “Should we tell her about the legends?” Stephan whispered to Ricky.
