She crossed her arms tightly over her chest.
"Go on, then," she huffed, rolling her eyes like a petulant teenager. "What exactly do you want, Cleo?" She said my name like it was something foul she had scraped off the bottom of her shoe.
"I want to know your endgame," I said solemnly, sitting back down and steepling my fingers. "Do you still love him?"
Laila let out a harsh, bitter laugh. "Yes. I do. And I fully plan to win my husband back, before you even bother to ask," she professed, leaning forward. "We have a history you couldn't possibly understand."
