The partnership rippling through roots, sun, air. At midday, children gathered under the old oak by the healer’s hearth. Eluna stood before them, her sketchbook in hand, she traced their small faces. “What do you imagine this line to be?” She pointed to a sinuous line drawn in the dirt. “Draw it in the air.” A young shifter girl drew a glowing spiral—wolf and bird shapes emerged. A human boy traced it as a river.

They left behind a trail of sketches and small gifts—flowers woven into crowns, stones painted with bright colors, drawings that captured their vision of a better world. Lysander picked up the young girl's drawing—she had drawn the figures from his painting with halos of light around their heads, each one connected to the next by lines of color that looked like rivers or rainbows. He pinned it to the wall beside his own work, where it seemed to shine with its own special light. "She sees what we're all trying to see," Eirene said, coming to stand beside him as they looked at the child's drawing. "She doesn't see gods and mortals—she just sees people, all glowing with the same light."

"It's missing both ears." I watch as he picks up the stick this time and makes on the sand, two medium sized 'c's on both sides of the drawing. We both tilt our heads to the left at the same time and stare at the drawing on the sand. One of the eyes are way bigger than the other and the nose seems to be falling out of proportion, the shape of the head looks like that of an amoeba while the ears he just drew isn't fully connected to the face. "I think it's phenomenal," He says.

Her body went still. Curious, I zoomed in further. My chest tightened immediately. It was me. A sketch of me. Tall, Broad shoulders and Sharp jawline. Dark shadows carved across the page like violence itself had been drawn into ink. But the eyes.. The eyes weren’t cruel. There was rage there, yes. Darkness too. But hidden beneath the sharp lines was something softer. Human. The realization hit me harder than it should have. Elara stared at the sketch for a long moment before snapping the book shut like she was angry at herself for drawing it.

" Are you feeling good down there?" " I am," I peeked at my drawing. Inspecting the somehow horrifying image. Okay! To get this straight...I drew something which almost seemed to look like an eagle...it had wings so long that it occupied the entire space of the paper. The wings had symbols that I saw as designs. I made its eyes wide like that of an owl but its peak was like that of a raven. It was flying, and behind it, I drew a small moon at the corner of the paper, beneath the eagle's feet was a trace of reflecting water.

Should Caspian call her again? Caspian thought about reaching out to see Elora’s face and make sure she was okay. I've never seen eyes so beautiful... it's a glimmering hazel with gold specs surrounding the outer layer of the pupil while the outer rim of the iris is outlined with a light green. It reminds me of forest fairies, adding such mystical and magical elements. This reminds me of how only one other person was able to mesmerize me with their eyes like this was Alej—never mind that.

Her perfectly serene doll-like look was ruined however by the tired scowl which decorates her face. Thick black bags hang under her tired golden eyes and her face was paler than usual. Her head hurts like a battle-ax was splitting it open and her shoulders and legs are aching after prolonged hours of sitting on the ground and focusing on drawing the symbols.

Elias smiled — quick and bright, the careful hope in his face opening up into something unguarded. Then he pointed at the folded paper. I set the carving gently back in the box and opened the paper. It was a drawing — done in careful, earnest lines with what looked like charcoal. A group of figures standing together in a space I recognised as the garden. Lucian. Amira. Witch Everly in true wolf form. I flipped it over and saw a photo of a wolf with its eyes as the focus of the photo. It wasn’t in color, but it looked like there were swirls of white in this wolf’s eyes. Swirls like… Jake’s eyes got some times. Could that be a glare from the photo? Something told me it was more than that. Was the entry I read true? Did Witch Everly have a wolf? What was a true wolf form? A really pure wolf?
