I could hear his end of the conversation and I had to keep myself composed as Joseph told Dan, the man downstairs, to send the little piece of fruit cake up. “Fourth floor, apartment four C,” he said to me and I smiled my thanks. I went up to the fourth floor and I shook my head as I laughed in the elevator. The doors opened up and I turned left. Their apartment was the third one and I knocked. Joseph Wilson opened the door and looked me up and down.

Until a knock on the door takes her out of her concentration. “Wait,” Elizabeth didn’t want to open the door, so she just got up and put on a bathrobe. She stood behind the door and speaking to the other side, “Who is it?” “It’s me open the door,” Elizabeth’s father’s voice sounded from the other side. “Why were you so late?” The voice was serious and with a slight tone of concern in his words.

“Oh thank you, would you like to come in?“ I asked, knowing Markel, he would probably just want to stay out or something but he actually surprised me by saying yes. I smiled and got down from the car, adjusting my Jean jacket properly and pushed the iron bars of the gates aside. I had thought about gifting Elizabeth an house but I am not so sure how she would accept the gift which is why i have been stalling. Looking for the right opportunity to give her what I want. I stopped at her door, knocking on the door and waited for a response. Few seconds later the door was opened by Hazel. Her eyes widen slightly on seeing me standing out the door.

“I really do.” He waved his hand at the tall door. “If it is too much for you, just tell me and we will find the smallest room in the house and start there. I imagine the room we are going into will be the largest because it would be the room company would come into. At least, in the houses I’ve stepped into, that is the way the layout has been.” Elizabeth stared into the cool darkness beyond the open doorway and tried not to hyperventilate. She told herself it was no different than entering a cave, or even going underground. There were no lights on. It was dark inside and she could feel the cool air coming out of the interior.

She turned to the guards and commanded, “Gentlemen, prepare the royal carriage.” The guards around us bowed and quickly moved, only to be stopped by Gonzalo. “You dare to disobey my command?” Elizabeth snarled as she turned to every guard in the room. “Your Grace, going to the Crystal Palace is just a waste of time,” Gonzalo repeated as he stepped towards us. “The elders will not allow us to enter the hall. Also, His Majesty will only disagree–”

Elizabeth said as she turned to the people still gathered in the hallway. “There is nothing to see here, continue with your business,” she commanded them. They all quickly disbursed from the area leaving me with both her and Carter. “Okay, let’s move into Eric’s room. We can discuss what you need to do,” Elizabeth suggested as Carter held the door for us both.

David locked the elevator and tapped Elizabeth’s shoulder. “Oh, sorry. I was just impressed by your… home...”. David looks around. He nods. To be honest, David was proud of his current achievements. He then beckoned for Elizabeth to follow him. Elizabeth nodded and walked towards him. David pointed at the cave. The hole of the cave was covered with planks of wood. It looked like the end of a barrel. At the center of this huge barrel-end was a rectangular door. The door was simple. It was a wooden wall with a wooden handle.

Elizabeth walked forward and finally stopped at the door of Room 999. She double-confirmed the number on the room card. She was at the right place. Reaching out her hand, she swiped the card on the sensing lock. With a click, the door opened. The light in the room was dim, and what entered her sight was a screen with a picture of a lady. The interior was decorated in an antique manner. Elizabeth slowed down as she walked into the room. The door automatically closed behind her. After coming round the screen, before she could clearly see the scene in front of her, she was pulled over by someone. While her mind was in a state of chaos, she fell heavily into a large carved wooden bed.

It was the perfect camouflage. In three strides, he was at the front door. Elbert rang the bell three consecutive times before the door opened. Elizabeth stared at him in her little frock gown, and Elbert couldn’t help but stare at her. She was beyond beautiful, and breathtaking. Who wouldn’t stare at her? She was exactly like Camille. “Elizabeth, who is at the door?” A woman queried. “Eh, I will be a right-back mother,” Elizabeth returned.

She reached her hands around to the back of her neck and tried to undo the knot, however, it didn’t seem to have an end for it to be undone. Giving up on that, she then got to her feet and followed it to where it disappeared into the wall but couldn’t find the way to get to the knot inside. Sighing in defeat Elizabeth looks around the bedroom her attention brought to the double glass doors of the balcony. Dropping the cord Elizabeth walks over to the doors and tries the handle, she is a little surprised when it turns and opens, pushing the door out she is met with the loud yells and whistles of the gathering crowd below.
