“You tried to kill her, and now you want to check she’s all right?” Tears gather on cue in her eyes. “It was an accident, Maya. You have to believe me. I’d never hurt Lucy. I love her.” That word… love… coming from her mouth makes my stomach turn. I want to puke. Jade doesn’t love anyone. She collects people. She feeds on their admiration, their fear, their envy.
