Jade stated, her tone of voice sounded like she was getting at something else. “Neither does getting rejected.” Jillian snapped, giving Jade a fierce look. “Drop it Jade, not now. Look Jordyn.” Jordyn glanced in the mirror. Her dress was white with a slight purple shimmer. It looked like two pieces of material barely wrapped her breasts, forming an x across her chest. Her stomach was bare and the x attached to a floor length skirt at the top of her hip bones. “You look like a goddess.” Myra stated, clapping her hands excitedly, quickly returning to help Jillian finish pinning her hair up in an elegant yet still kind of messy and curly bun.

Alexandra said. “Yes, you can, you can die and give us Jade,” Gage said. “Ah Spell Blades well I'm afraid she isn’t here right now. You can kill me it’s not going to get you anywhere.” Alexandria smiled. She backed up, they followed her in. Kills moved in front of Gage, and ripped her throat out, she dropped to the ground. Gage sniffed the air, “If I was a mortal where would I be?” Gage said. Jade heard the chatter in the living room and decided to hide in the closet. She silently closed the door and covered herself with some of Garrett's clothes laying on the floor. Her breathing picked up, but she calmed it down.

Lily Greeley spoke in defence of her mother who was now on the verge of shedding crocodile tears. “You expect me to believe that! Besides, I don’t need her worrying about my affairs! I can handle them myself! She never bothered about them before anyways!” Jade Greeley retorted sharply, throwing an icy glare at Lily Greeley. “I… I-I only did that be…because I-I thought you wouldn’t show up if you knew the truth. I was only wor…ried about you,” Elizabeth Greeley lamented while shedding a few fake tears. Meanwhile, she was internally biting at her hankie while cursing at Jade, ‘Why can’t this brat just follow the story?’

She settled onto one of them, and I took a seat beside her, Lupus and Jessica opposite us. “Why is she part of our discussion about the gala?” Jessica’s voice was sugar-sweet, but venom laced every syllable. I felt it like a cold wind. Lupus laid a hand briefly on her knee. “Come now, girl, I’m sure Jason has a reason for involving his maid.” I had to admit, Lupus had a subtle knack for slipping barbed remarks under the surface. I watched Elizabeth shrink slightly at the words, uncertainty clouding her expression. But when I introduced her, I spoke with quiet authority:

“You sound too relaxed for someone who should be terrified.” Jade sighed. “Terrified? Of you?” “You should be,” I hissed. “Because I have something you love. I have Gina with me.” Silence. A slow smirk curved my lips. “Yes… Gina. Selene’s daughter. She’s with me. And if you don’t tell Kieran to let me back into the villa, she will die miserably.” Another pause. I expected panic. Fear. Tears. But instead, Jade laughed. “What’s so funny?” I snapped.

God, this is awkward. "Giuzde, why are you guys so quiet?" Said the girl beside him. She had wavy, jade-green hair which she had tied in a high ponytail, and her chocolate brown eyes seemed to hold so much warmth just like how she smiled at me. "A pleasure to meet you, Miss Belladonna. My name is Rosellia Laurel, you may call me Rose or Lia. I'm in my third year. I am one of the Pillars and is known as Jade Mantis."

"Of course. I’ll come back, Ms. Collins. Mr. Frost would certainly appreciate your help with this matter." She only nodded, eager to send him away. Only after Ryan had left did Jade finally allow herself to breathe. "Who was that man, Mommy?" Zia asked, her voice small and drowsy. "Just someone from Mommy’s work," Jade said, crouching down to pick her up. "Come on, sweetie. Let’s get you back to bed." "Okay, Mommy." When Zia had fallen back asleep, Jade finally let her tears fall freely again. This time, it wasn’t about her lost love. This time, it was fear. Fear of losing her daughter. A girl had taken the seat beside her — pretty, put-together, smiling with the open friendliness of someone who considers strangers a resource. “Hi,” Lilly said. “Are you here to watch our team?” “Yes.” “Amazing. Who are you rooting for specifically?” The girl leaned in slightly. “In the team, I mean.” Lilly smiled with just enough awkwardness to be genuine. “Zane, I think.” “Same.” The girl’s smile stayed but something behind it adjusted. “How do you know him? Are you two friends or—” “Zane’s Mauli.” Jade dropped into the seat on Lilly’s left, completely at home, unwrapping a snack with the ease of someone who has excellent seats at most things in life.
