Jerry had helped him a lot already and his own pride refused to beg him to not sell the place, especially when Jerry needed the money for his mother's treatments. He looked through the glass-sheathed walls of the small, colourful flower shop and felt sudden warmth spreading through his chest when he saw Joy smiling brightly at Uncle Desmond. She was handing him the usual lilies packed in brown paper. He could feel himself getting embarrassed when he remembered that this wasn't the first time he had stared at her through the glass. For Joy, their first meeting was when he was about to commit suicide at the bridge, but for him, he had seen her way before that.

Joyce felt herself becoming literally scared of being burned to death on the ground that she was a sacrifice. Another man took up a wood which had caught fire and was about to light up the woods which were arranged on top of the pole when someone ordered him to stop.

She was probably planning to throw all the blame on her. Joyce had assumed that her brilliant plan would enable her to escape unscathed if Mrs. Smith found out about the affair, besides teaching the haughty Ella Steele a lesson or two at the same time. Yet things had not turned out the way she expected. The crowd was still watching too. Many of them even pulled out their phones and recorded the scene. Seeing that the crowd was growing in size, Stella thought it best to leave. But as she turned around, she bumped into Yvonne, who had just arrived.

Joyce withdrew her hand. "Easy now. We don't want the cartel hearing their Pope cry" she smiled. Dylan chuckled. "Curse Ceaza. I'll get at him for this. I definitely will. Only he won't be able to cry much long for his" he sneered. "It's okay. You'll get him. He'll play right into your paws, son" Joyce replied. She unscrewed the cover of the bottle and smoke erupted from it. She gently tilted her hand, dripping a few drops of the bottle's content onto the upwards edge of the stab wound.

She raised a corner of her mouth, displaying a confident and determined expression. Joyce, who hadn't anticipated Celina's move, quickly grabbed Joyce's hand to take the glasses back, but she lost her balance and fell into him. Four eyes locked, everything seemed to pause, and in their gaze, only each other existed. After a few seconds, Celina regained her senses and pushed Joyce away forcefully. Celina's unexpected move caught Joyce off guard, and he couldn't react in time. He was pushed back, letting out a cry as his face contorted in what seemed like excruciating pain.

She pretended to be pitiful and said, “It’s fine, Samuel. No matter what, it’s my fault for stealing her role as the lead dancer and performing the dance she choreographed. It’s only fair for her to be mad.” Joy shook her head. “I’m not angry. I’m here to give you two a gift.” Those words shocked everyone. What gift? “Come with me.” With that said, Joy headed out of the performance hall. Precisely when they exited, fireworks shot to the cry and exploded before falling like rain. They continued exploding and lighting up the sky.

Suddenly, a familiar voice said, “Open, open, open.” Avery and Trent were alarmed that Joyce betrayed them like this. Didn’t she see that Trent was around? Avery was upset with Joyce, who kept instigating the guests against Avery. For the first time, Anderson was happy with Joyce. Even Martin seemed impressed. Her voice was backed with cheers as others joined, “open, open, open.” Avery was helpless. Shyly and reluctantly, her lips parted and the fork carrying the meatball slipped into it, followed by loud cheers and the clapping of hands.

Joyce. Seeing this incident, made Mr. Joyce want to know what the cause of the blood was. After being watched for a while, Mr. Joyce looked at Jessica's right hand, which was holding a safety pin. He quickly turned to sit behind Jessica and immediately took the safety pin from his hand. However, Jessica's reaction was very surprising because she screamed and didn't want to let go of the pin. “Let go of Jessica! These pins will hurt you!” Mr. Joyce kept trying to hold Jessica's hand. He even took it forcibly because Jessica's condition was getting wilder in hurting herself.

Frankie’s words brought Ricky back to his senses. “Are you fucking crazy?” Ricky blurted out. “We can’t do that. We’re skipping school, remember? And we’re on Joco’s turf without permission. Are you insane? Do you want to piss our parents off? Or deal with Jocko? I know I don’t. I say we leave her as she lay. She’s as good as dead anyway.”
