Penelope

Penelope

The woman in her thirties smiled politely, hanging on my every word. "I'll need shoes too, black preferably.." I paused, distracted by the clicking of a woman's heels on the flooring. I looked around and found myself unable to say another word once I saw who the woman in heels was. Jamie Harris! Fuck!! Not now!! Of all people to walk through this lobby today, it had to be her. I wasn't prepared to see her yet. I've had a long time to think about how I wanted our first conversation to go,but I was jet lagged and my brain wasn't working. I haven't shaved in months.

When you have to wait for long periods of time to read 1 short chapter it takes away from the enjoyment of reading the book. By the time a new chapter comes out, I have forgotten the other short chapters.
Madeline Crist
If Jamie is killed off in this storyline then what's the point. She's the fantastic female character that you want to know what going to happen between her & Mason. She's been through enough, now this tragic scenario ... happens. Come on now give her a HAPPY ENDING.

Magda

Magda

For as long as I remember, she invited me to have breakfast together with her siblings. I moved as fast as I could. Wishing to make this morning routine done soon. After a few minutes of battling with bath hygiene stuff and the closet, I hurriedly got my car keys and ran outside the house. "Master Clark! You forgot to take your breakfast!" Mrs. Belen shouted while holding a tray of food. Mrs. Belen is one of our maids in the mansion. I mentally face-palm after hearing it. As far as I know, this maid was a very loyal servant to my mom and she would report that I skipped breakfast today.

CAMILA

CAMILA

I walked to the driver and smiled. “Caren Inc please” I slipped into the car and he drove off. Caren Inc was a large office building, it wasn’t so popular but I already felt a homy feeling around it. I stepped out of the car and walked into the building. I headed straight for the receptionist, a tall blonde woman with huge spectacles. Her tag said Mrs. Helen Mayer. “hey, I’m Camila Santiago and I applied for a job here” she glanced through some files and smiles.

MELISSA

MELISSA

(MELISSA'S POV) I woke up and rubbed off sleep from my eyes now that I'm in human world I feel weak unlike in Atlantica where I work all the time without getting tired. My stomach grumble and I sighed. I'm so hungry I stood up from the bed and walked out of the room to where there were big boxes of human rocks that spread down towards the sitting room where we first met yesterday. I gently and carefully climbed down the human Rock and I smiled when I reached the end I looked around the entire sitting room as he called it but couldn't find what to eat. Remembering the sea I smiled happily and immediately opened the door and ran out of the house towards the sea.

A Night With Mr Lawson

A Night With Mr Lawson

Aunt Elsie shrieked like a cat the moment she walked through the dinning room arch and saw her nephew. "Is she the one? Is this Ariana?" Elsie continued checking out the woman beside Calhoun. She didn't even wait for him to respond before she moved closer to Ariana that was slowly shrinking behind Calhoun. "Hi! I am Elsie. Calhoun's youngest aunt. He loves me too much!" She said stretching her hand to Ariana. The entire family poked their necks waiting for what was going to happen. Lily was already pissed off for she knew Elsie was going to change the tides of the family reunion like she always does with that loud voice of hers.

I was never good at recognizing people. " If I may interrupt your little chit-chat session with my niece Mr Kings, I see you're getting quite comfortable with her already." Uncle Aaron says with a fake smile. I can tell he doesn't like that Mr Richards attention was on me and not on Julia. Not that I care though. Mr Richard seemed like a wonderful person and I was just being nice to him. " Well yes, she is indeed a wonderful woman. I hear she manages the affairs of Peyton Inc. Must be a strong woman to control the monthly income of over 50,000 employees all over the world." Mr Richard replies.

Eve and the Devilish Alpha

Eve and the Devilish Alpha

The name died on my lips. Standing there wasn’t Sage. It was an older woman, mid-fifties maybe, with kind eyes, graying hair pulled into a neat bun under a crisp chef’s hat, and a spotless apron tied over a simple dress. She held a silver tray balanced easily in her hands, covered dishes steaming faintly under a fine linen cloth. “Good morning, Mrs. Hawthorne,” she said warmly, a smile crinkling the corners of her eyes. “I’m Ellen, the new housekeeper. Mr. Sage hired me yesterday. Breakfast is ready whenever you are.”

Mrs. Perfect

Mrs. Perfect

When I found out I was going to die, I accepted it with ease. My mate, Simon Knightley, came to me with a sullen expression and said, "Zora, Laila has been in poor health since birth. She's an Omega with the weakest healing ability. "One of her kidneys is failing, and she needs a transplant to survive."

Frequently Asked Questions

Elsie Hughes wrote about writing as a solitary, almost accidental thing for her. I recall an old interview where she said it began with trying to make sense of her own family history, stitching together stories her grandmother told about their Welsh mining village. That was the core: wanting to fix those fading voices on paper before they vanished completely. She's said she never intended to publish; the act itself was the point, a private archaeology. That changed when a friend read a draft and pushed her. I think that's why her early novels, like 'The Stillness of Stones', feel so anchored in place—the writing came from a need to preserve, not perform.

Her later shift into mystery elements seems to have a different spark. In a podcast last year, she mentioned reading classic golden-age detective stories during a long convalescence, and becoming fascinated with the structure of secrets. That technical challenge merged with her existing style. So, inspiration wasn't a single lightning bolt. It was a slow burn from personal history, later kindled by a love of puzzle-box narratives.
