In the Shadows of the Moon
“You go ahead, Amber,”
“Okay,” She shrugged and walked towards the main door. I heard her squeal as she met the celebrant by the doorway. At most times, I envy Amber for having the courage to welcome new acquaintances into her life. Unlike me, I get attached to people, treat them as friends, love them, which at times I would visit them in hiding, seeing them suffering either in illness or old age, while I remain the same, young and getting stronger.
I took a deep breath as I looked up at the sky, staring at the big full moon. It was so beautiful that I wished for a magical night, not a horrifying one. Another heave of sigh, then I walked towards the door.
