“Welcome to the cracks. Let’s see if you can widen them.” Eko Citadel, Observation Garden Tunde hadn’t meant to come back. But the garden was the only place that didn’t feel like glass and wires. And she was there. Amara sat on the fountain rim, sketchbook in hand, curls spilling across her face. She looked up when he approached, her smile small, quiet. “You look less like a ghost tonight,” she said. He chuckled, sitting across from her. “Still feel like one.” “Ghosts don’t eat dried mango.” She slid another slice toward him.

“I was told I’d find you here.” I turned to see Ellemea approaching me from the back-gate of the castle. For a witch who was probably older than the tree of life, she was naturally beautiful, and young too. Her silver-fox hair was tied up in a high-up do that made her slender face pop. She was clad in a fur coat and jeans with boot-leg boots to match. “Hi,” I said meekly. I dropped the tin flower on the floor and rubbed my hands on my clothing.

The Entourage pulled away from the curb and soon we joined them, leaving the castle behind and going away. It was about an hour's ride to the Arundel castle where the meeting would be held, a place where all the Kings and Queens of all the countries had been called to for a meeting. "You look beautiful today" said Hades as he held my hand tighter in his. I couldn't help the smile that I gave him, looking at who was complimenting me. "You don't look so bad yourself husband" I said to him. "Are you ready?" He asked with a smile.

Steve was surprised at the location of Emma's house. He had initially believed that she would get an apartment in the middle of the city, somewhere modern and clinical to match her profession. Instead, she stayed in a mansion nestled deep in the mountainous forest at the outer edge of the city. His breath caught as they approached the imposing structure, partially hidden behind a curtain of towering pine trees.

I’m grateful that Camilla and Dean McLaughlin prepared me for my life here during the plane ride. I got to spend every second taking it all in. Even Summer, who pouted the entire plane ride, perked up, taking in the sights of our new home. The car turns onto a windy road, leading toward a run down castle. Nineteen-year-old Emma appeared in the kitchen, already dressed in her bridesmaid's dress – a soft sage green that complemented her dark hair and brought out the gold flecks in her eyes. She had just started her sophomore year at the state university, studying to become a teacher like Bella, though her focus was on elementary education. "Has anyone seen Grace?" Emma asked, adjusting the sleeves of her dress. "She was supposed to be getting ready, but her room is empty."

Thank God the Langstons don’t rule Upper Castles. In Amaenia, there are ten regions, and each region is ruled by a seat holder. Upper Castles, where we live, is ruled by the Caddels. Our neighbour, The Capital, is the central region of the country and is ruled by the Albertines— the country royalty. The Vandenbergs rule North Ventrise, and then the Barringtons in Barnsley, the Whitlocks in Wells Spring, the Hogwoods in Hillstone, the Hansleys in Hathbourne, the Silvius in Southcove, the Castellans in Chesterfield, and the Langstons in Lancastre.

She didn’t know how to feel about it. “ Where are we off to?” Emma voiced her thoughts when they crossed the main building to a similar connecting one. Just when she thought she’d seen it all, the mansion somehow brought more surprising and beautifully secluded buildings. “ I don’t remember you showing me this place.” Emma’s voice shifted from being worried to awe. The place was beautiful. Too beautiful. “ That’s because you weren’t allowed at the time. This place is off-limits for everyone. Only a few people are given access to the place, a few you’ve been added into.” Mrs Adams explained.

"That is a very large amount of money, Ms. Calla. May I ask what this money is for?" Calla looked at Neva and gave a small nod. Neva stepped forward and locked the office door. Then she took out a gun and stood by the door. Mr. Evans' face turned white. "What is this?" he whispered. Calla's voice was cold as ice. "Mr. Evans, your daughter Emma goes to the ballerina school on Elm Street. She is twelve years old. She has brown hair and likes pink. She walks home every day at 3:15 PM."
