Granny Emma came into the office and set a tray of goodies down on the coffee table nearby. “Time for refreshments, girls. Dani, are you sure you’re alright?” Danielle gave her a weak smile and nodded, going over to stretch out on the sofa beside her. She had been feeling excessively tired for the last two days, and it worried granny Emma. “I’m still feeling totally drained out, granny. She loves going to parties and having her friends wrapped around her pinky finger.

I passed everything I found back to Matthew, who used the information to sabotage the company in ways no one could trace. But then, I met Emma. Emma was just another worker in the office back then, quiet and unassuming. At first, I didn’t pay much attention to her, but over time, I started noticing the little things. The way she stayed late to finish work no one else wanted to do, the way she always greeted people with a smile even when she was clearly exhausted, the way her eyes held a sadness she tried to hide. “She’s nobody,” Matthew said dismissively when I mentioned her once, “Focus on the mission.”

I think she didn't see me that day. As we sat down to eat, I casually asked Emma about the woman who had just left. Emma told me it was her secretary. That explained everything. Around that time, Daniel had stopped coming to Trenton Corp and was spending all his time at Emma’s studio. I decided to dig a little deeper. I spoke to a few of Emma’s staff members, and what they told me shocked me to my core. They said they had caught Daniel and Emma having sex multiple times.

I was a little hungry and Derek had warned me against starving. The knock at my door startled me as I reached for the handle. Pausing, I moved away a little. “Come in,” I called softly. The door creaked open, and Daniella stepped in, balancing a tray with a cup of latte and a plate of pancakes. Her face lit up with a shy smile at the sight of me. “Good morning, Miss Emma, you look beautiful as always.” My cheeks flushed. I felt heavy, like a bear or something. Looking forward, the sight that greeted Emlyn was of a female with an afro that fell loosely to her shoulders and warm brown eyes filled with visible worry, which morphed into joy at the sight of him. “Oh my gosh!
