Colors of luminous gold, red, green, silver and pink burst out of the book and spread across the room. Then they felt something cold touch their entire body. Before they knew it, they were all sucked inside the book, screaming.

It helped her get more relaxed and so she could absorb the lessons easily into her brain, into her subconscious. She started off with Algebra, followed by Humanity, English, Science and lastly, World History. Upon picking up the book of “The Pharaohs of Ancient Egypt,” she felt a vibration—it was almost electric. The book seemed to quiver at her touch, or so she thought. She immediately put it down, afraid to touch it. Her heart was beating so fast. After some minutes of staring at the book, she took a deep breath and touched the said book again. It did not shake this time, so she thought she might just have an illusion on that feeling. Hence, she started reading where their class left off.

Elena said, looking up to see the winter fairy spirit in front of her. “Is that what you think? Do you know what you're about to do? That book you possess is called the book of shadows which contains spells and magic that could lead to ultimate chaos and destruction! You must be very careful Elena when you use such spells.” The winter fairy said gazing at her. “How come I am able to read and understand these words. “Go on, baby.” Ava looked nervous, but she placed her hand against the print. Immediately, the book shuddered like a living thing, and the leather rippled like the surface of a pond. With a low, groaning sound, the book unlocked itself, the pages fluttering open to somewhere near the middle. Strange letters danced across the pages, shifting and rearranging themselves until they settled into readable English. “It's enchanted to adapt,” Bonnie said, smiling faintly. “Otherwise, only the elders could have read it.”

Unfortunately, I wasn't the only one enamored with this godlike man. On our wedding night, he received a phone call and never came back. I sat on the bed until dawn, not sleeping a wink. In the early morning, he came back drunk. He calmly stroked my head and said, "You know what's the most adorable thing about you? It's that you're sensible enough not to cause trouble.
