Kael reached out, his fingers brushing the spike. The moment his skin touched the metal, a shockwave of white light blasted outward from the console, rattling the very foundations of the Spire. The ceiling groaned, metal screeching against metal as the structural integrity of the room began to fail. Debris—bolts, shards of glass, and pieces of the ceiling—began to rain down around them.
