“I don’t understand,” I say slowly, my voice tinged with disbelief. The job probably explained why "a good actress" was a crucial part of the descriptio but it was still almost unbelievable. “Why would someone... need this?” I mutter.
Finally, Sebastian speaks, his deep voice cutting through the air like a blade. “That’s not your concern, is it?”
My head snaps toward him, my anger flaring. “Excuse me?”
“You heard me,” he says coolly, leaning back in his chair. “Your job is to play the part. You don’t need to know ‘why.’”
