My chest ached, my stomach twisted, and I found myself wondering why he had to be like this— Calm, untouchable and infuriatingly… perfect.
I stomped my boots on the pavement, trying to release the tension, trying to get my thoughts in order. I had to stay sharp. I had to focus.
