Novel & Cerita Entertaining Books To Read

Why can't they just have one or two really good books, instead of three or four adequate ones? I pick up one of them, see that it's about good and evil fairies that are at war, and quickly put it back. I am not reading four hundred pages of fake conflict and two fairy hunks fighting over a fairy princess. Give me a cliché werewolf or vampire story any day.

Though I was sure that I could pull it off just as I'd always done from the beginning, why reject such an opportunity because of my petty feelings? I smiled at Esther, "Probably because I like to be surrounded by people like me… I guess. So, we're going to bond over a nice novel today. What about the great Gatsby or…Wuthering heights? Trust me, they're really nice choices of books I picked from your library, and they might also teach us a thing or two about human emotions. I must say, you have taste, woman!" Esther scowled, rolling her wheel away to the table where several candles were placed. "I'd rather pluck my eyes out than read a book with you, Olivia."

There are history books, Psychology books, Biographies even novels. Like actual novels. My eyebrows lift slowly as my eyes glaze over some of the titles as I picked one and flipped over them. “Well this is deeply upsetting.”I murmur under my breath. “What is?”Mercer says his voice sounds amused behind me. “You being literate.”I say in a mocking tone and that earns me a low laugh from somewhere near the kitchen and once again the sound lands directly in my chest. God I love his laugh! It’s dangerous but everything about this man feels dangerous in the most unfairly attractive way possible. I pull one of the books halfway from the shelf before freezing.

“Quiet doesn’t mean unbothered. Just good at hiding it.” We fell into silence. The only sound was distant thunder rumbling above ground. I wondered how long we’d be down here. Minutes stretched. What about you? History major with a focus on obscure trade? That’s not common.”

“Very little. Your planet is so clean. So beautiful and lush. On Earth, there’s tons of garbage, and humans don’t know how to live without a million gadgets.” “You don’t like gadgets?” She shrugged. “I’m happy with a good book. Give me an e-reader or a paperback, and I can be easily entertained.” “What types of books do you like to read?” He appeared genuinely interested, so she didn’t feel bad answering honestly. “I like horror. I like stuff that scares me.” He started laughing, the loud chuckle making her bounce on his lap. “What’s so funny?” “I never would have taken you for someone who likes horror. But now that I think about it, I can see it.”

Feeling at a loss as to what to do with myself, I decided to explore the library. Wandering through the currently empty house on my way to the library, I begin to find myself feeling rather lonely. Flicking Kenzie a quick text to see what she is up to, I walk through the door and into the library. Perusing the shelves I see that the majority are classics such as Charles Dickens and Jane Austin. But tucked away in the corner I spy one of my favourite fantasy series. A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin. Curling up in the lone red leather chair I open the first book and begin to read.

I stopped in the history section and stared at the books and without noticing I am now smiling. We are both silent while we do our thing. He’s reading while jotting down some notes while I am just reading. I didn’t know how many times I yawned already because I am reading a very uninteresting book. I sighed. I wonder if I would be feeling sleepy if I read the erotic book? Damn! I am not seriously into those things but well…it has a nice plot. If Ronald just didn’t tease me. Bastard.
