Lost City at Sea
As far as Ishida was concerned, this island had very busy harbors, wharves, piers, jetties, pontoon bridges, drydocks, naval bases, repair yards, and submarine bases.
In fact, the entrance of the inland sea, which also served as the exit, was so overcrowded that the line of ships waiting to enter extended kilometers away into the gulf.
At certain times, there were so many vessels in the lake that the water around the entrance of the inland sea could no longer be seen, for it was entirely covered.
“No doubt about it now,” Ishida began as he put his binoculars away. “That’s Piletus City, the capital city of the Piletan Empire!”
