“Does he know you’re the son of a hunter? The son of a man who slaughtered his kind without blinking an eye?”
Before I could think, I was in front of her, my hand pressed over her mouth. “Don’t,” I warned, my voice a low growl.
Her wide eyes stared up at me, her breath hot against my palm. Slowly, she pried my hand away, her chest rising and falling as she stepped back.
“Remember what happened the last time?” She asked and I gritted my teeth, trying to block the damn memory away.
“If Orin finds out,” she whispered, her voice shaky now, “he’s dead. You’re dead. You know that, don’t you?”
