Her hand tightening on the dagger hidden beneath her cloak as she walked into the center of the chamber where a feminine figure cloaked in grey stood, with her hood shadowing her face.
“You’re late,” the woman said, her voice soft but cutting.
Lilith froze. She knew that voice. “Eris.”
Her younger sister lowered her hood, revealing sharp features and dark eyes gleaming with mischief. Eris had always been more reckless, more eager to flow with forbidden things.
She looked untouched by guilt, thriving in it instead.
“Little sister,” Eris purred, stepping closer. “Still playing loyal and heartbroken, chosen mate to the Riders pack ? How tiring that must be.”
