The air was crisp and clean, with a hint of freshly brewed coffee that the servants just served. I sat poised reviewing the files from the Lane packs representative, Archie Addams. On a sleek, silver platter, a delicate arrangement of pastries beckoned flaky croissants, buttery Danish, and crispy bagels. Atop each pastry, a delicate slice of smoked salmon glistened. Dollops of cream cheese, infused with a hint of lemon and dill, added a tangy contrast.

Bruschetta with tomatoes, mozzarella and basil, muffins with jam, several kinds of milk with biscuits, hot buttery croissants which smelled incredible, and the usual espresso. The woman had also brought small milk capsules for those who didn’t like black coffee. It was all directed at me because I drank it that way. This man knew everything about me. “Thank you,” I said to the woman after she placed the plate in front of me.

She advised, "Don't get so worked up, Levian. It's bad for your health. I know you care about me, but you shouldn't get too emotional." "It's nothing, but those incompetent fools…forget it." He sat down next to her. He arched his chin upward and gestured toward a tray of exquisite pastries. "Look at what I've brought you!" Melody's eyes brightened when she saw the packaging. She exclaimed, "The lavender madeleines from Artisanal Boulangerie?" The Artisanal Boulangerie was a well-known Bayridge bakery that only produced a small number of pastries each day. Customers had to pre-order their pastries and pick them up first thing in the morning.

Audrey I looked wistfully at the almond croissant that the waitress set down in front of Madeleine. “God, I would kill for one of those,” I groaned. It wasn’t just that this café did some of the best pastries in all of Paris. Or the world, really. I was also just hungry, like I seemed to always be these days. I wrapped my hands around my plain green tea, as though I was trying to keep myself from reaching out and snitching a bite of the other dancer’s dessert. There was a reason that I hadn’t ordered anything other than tea for myself, I knew.

Before I could ask further questions, he continued, "With one of the most famous businesswomen, Ms. Casey Renaulds." Instantly, I tightened my grip on the knife and questioned, "What did he order?" "Fruit custard and espresso with no sugar for himself, strawberry pancakes with Vanilla Mocha Deluxe for the lady." I gave a tight-lipped smile before saying, "Okay, I will make it." Mr. Colleny asked with concern, "Are you okay, dear?" I nodded abruptly. "Indeed, I am." I made strawberry pancakes, fruit custard, and Vanilla Mocha Deluxe perfectly. However, I added three spoons of sugar in the espresso.

She looked at Xavier to see if he was ready to order. “Yes, Caramel macchiato for me please and some biscuits” “I’ll have the same” Celine says. They engaged in small talk while waiting for their orders to be served. “guess who called me this morning?” Celine asked Xavier. Xavier shrugged, he wasn’t good at guessing. “I swear if I were to guess, it will be someone totally unrelated. Just save me the stress and tell me….” He says, his blue eyes shone in anticipation, Celine had caught his attention and he was all caught in fascination of her.

By then I should make the coffee. Elaine thought and looked around the kitchen while thinking what type of coffee Cannon liked. A coffee machine got into her sight but she was still undecided what to go for. As Cannon’s words got echoing in her mind, without wasting any more moments, she quickly made some espresso thinking it would help him reduce his headache. She placed some cookies beside espresso that she found there which Bella baked earlier and gave her in snacks when she was in the library. But for medicine, she didn’t find any.

“Did I hear you say made, Mr. Jerald?” Jerald scoffed. “What now… you doubting my capability even after tasking my meal yesterday?” Jasmine’s lips parted. “Your meal?” Her expression mirrored perplexity. “You mean… you prepared that meal? The one I ate yesterday?” Jerald rolled his eyes, grabbing the shot of espresso from the tray. “What now…?” Jasmine grabbed a toast of cornetto, taking a gentle bite from it. She allowed the taste to explore her mouth, eyes widening gently as she felt the soft sweetness melt against her lips.
