She looked up at Catalina with something almost like pity.
"He's alive," Camila said. "For now."
"Help him," Catalina begged. "Please, just help him."
"That depends on you."
Esteban's voice cut through the chapel.
He emerged from the shadows near the entrance, his hands clasped behind his back, his expression calm and unreadable. He looked at the scene before him—the blood, the wounded man, the captured prisoners, like he was reviewing paperwork.
"Valentina," he said pleasantly. "I'm disappointed. I gave you a choice. A fair choice. And you chose to run."
