Austin stepped out with a towel draped loosely around his hips, letting droplets of water trail down his hard abdominal muscles. He ran his hand through his wet hair, gazing at Seara, who sat frozen on the edge of the bed. The girl looked as if she’d seen a ghost, her eyes fixed on Austin’s phone lying on the nightstand. “Austin,” Seara’s voice trembled slightly. “You’ve got a new message notification on your phone.” Austin merely glanced at the flat device without interest. “Ignore it. It’s probably just Alex reporting another broken fence caused by some rogue.”

Can't take any chances because karma is as real as a black eye. Austin is wearing a grey T-shirt and jean trousers. I remember the shirt from the first time I went to see him in his study. It hugs his body, like my arms should, and fits him properly. As they walk by, my eyes are on him. He is looking at Robin Hood, listening to him blab about the amount of resources he has spent on constructing a ferris wheel. Who the hell cares? Not Austin, I definitely can tell. As they come closer, Austin stops looking at his tour guide and looks at us. I nearly fall on my ass. The children push me from behind and I bounce back on my feet, while they yell their excitement. They have no goddamn idea.

Austin taken another step toward the ice cream truck as his mind processed this. He glanced at the owner and all the kids surrounding screaming, laughing as they got there cones of ice cream That owner came to him, his expression unusual. “Ah, Mr.?” “Austin Reed,” he stated again, still perplexed. The owner beamed. "Mrs. Reed, your wife just went and bought all the ice cream from my truck." Austin eyes filled in astonishment. The owner added, "She told me that it’s nothing in front of you, Ah..you have to pay me $20k, sir.”

Charlotte: “My men will come to pick up you and your family and take them somewhere safe,” I stated, before ending the call. “That was Austin,” Xavier who had been looking at me in silence said. “Yes, and he is willing to help, Xavier. I am finally doing this!” I stated excitedly, still in disbelief. Xavier moved closer to me in for a hug but I could not tell what it was for. “Weldone,” He muttered, patting me on the back.

Although he only vaguely mentioned what happened between us, the little he said was enough to make people understand us and I knew they felt bad for us. Especially Kelvin who was staring at us with a red face. He seemed very sad for us and that made me smile bitterly. Austin wasn't saying anything anymore either. He was done talking and it was left for others to accept his decision or do whatever they wanted. After a while, the door opened and Tine returned with a doctor. The doctor walked over and tested Austin. "Any headache?" He asked and Austin shook his head. "I'm perfectly fine now. When can I leave?" Austin asked impatiently.

Austin revealed, his voice tinged with suspicion. “He lied,” I stated, a frown forming on my face. “But why would he?” “Well, you see, our dear Tom Tom wasn’t just in Greenfield for a meeting; rather, he was there to see a certain someone,” Austin explained eagerly, his voice tinged with excitement. He lifted his phone, displaying an image of Tom alongside a mysterious man. “He was here to see Dr. Tunde, who happens to be a witch,” Austin exclaimed, as he leaned in closer, emphasizing each word for dramatic effect.

We still chatted privately with my burner phone which Austin doesn’t know about. For more than one week, I stayed indoors. I needed time to heal and get back to my usual cheerful self. Tyler kept trying to locate the rest of Austin’s warehouses and his secret safe houses. He kept updating me on his plans to locate my kids, he never tried to see me in person because he thinks that Austin has placed hidden bugs around the house. Besides, Austin never went out like he used to. It seems like he encountered a major setback in his plans because he spends more time at home, grumbling and complaining about my brother, Drake, and how he is ruining things for him.

He straightened up, towering over her, his presence suddenly cold enough to frost the windows. "I don't serve 'God’s creatures,' and I certainly don't serve 'Blessed Ones,'" Austin stated, his voice a flat, metallic rasp that cut through her sweetness like a chainsaw. "My hands, my blades, and my very breath have only ever belonged to one person. And you aren't her." Selene’s smile twitched. "I only meant..." "I know what you meant," Austin interrupted. He reached up, unbuttoning the top three buttons of his Ventus tunic with a slow, deliberate motion. He pulled the fabric aside, revealing the tan, scarred skin of his pectoral muscle.

Austin butts in “Let’s stop talking about this.” We leave Pats and I start heading for a hotel. “Wait! What are you doing?” Austin asks. “We are staying the night,” I shoot back at him. Austin jumps in front of us “We are not staying the night. I was specifically told to take you shopping and bring you back,” he says. “Plans change. Don’t make me force you,” I give him an evil grin. He swallows hard “God I am going to be in trouble.”

Epilogue – Liam I reflect on the summer holidays as I stand in the four-bed house, Tate’s dad got her here in Austin, TX. It’s hot and humid as I watch my girl running around between the kitchen and the boxes in the large, open space lounge. And by large, I mean like seriously fucking BIG.
