“I-I just need time, Cali.”
He kept using my name, and I don’t like it. It’s a sign that he’s indeed on the brink of losing his shit. “One more night.” I conceded, knowing that we both need time to process this, him, more than me.
“Yes,” Evan hummed.
“Alright.”
He stood up, clasping my face again, kissing me sweetly. Tender gaze masked the anger he’s holding onto.
“Thank you, Princess.”

Since Evan needed to leave, I decided it’ll be best for me to drive to Maine and talk to my sister. She’s the only one who’ll understand me, my situation, whatever this is I’m trapped in.
