This Time, I'm the Fool

This Time, I'm the Fool

typo on the campus forum, pairing it with a suggesting emoji and the words, 'You never really know a person,' turning the entire school against me. Even after I had drunk the water that Maisie had contaminated with toxic bacteria and died a miserable death, Chloe had gone around telling people I'd killed myself because I'd missed an important exam.

Once a Fool, Now a Queen

Once a Fool, Now a Queen

He worshiped me with his hands, his mouth, his words, unraveling me completely, until nothing else existed but him. And when we finally collapsed onto the bed, tangled in sheets and each other, I pressed my lips to his shoulder and whispered, “You were never invisible, Killian. Not to me.” Killian didn’t respond immediately. But then, in the dark, I felt it—the slow curve of his lips against my temple. And I knew he had heard me. *** Hey, awesome readers! Thanks for sticking with me through Once a Fool, Now a Queen! I hope you’ve loved the drama, the twists, and all the swoon-worthy moments as much as I loved writing them.

Taking the Fall for a Fool

Taking the Fall for a Fool

Eventually, he grew emotional and yelled, "I just made an error, that's all! "There's always a margin of error. This doesn't prove that I tampered with the report. You can't just accuse me of falsifying the report!" All of a sudden, David remembered something. He excitedly pulled out his phone and started scrolling through it. After looking through his gallery, he pulled out the photo of the finger diagram and said, "Nick reminded me of something. There's always a margin of error, but the prints on the drug vial definitely belong to Natalie. This is concrete proof that no one touched the vial but her."

Played Me for a Fool

Played Me for a Fool

I gathered my courage and said emphatically, "I hope you won't go back on your promise." Felicia's eyes darkened. It was almost as if she couldn't believe that I'd stop putting up a fight so easily when I'd been on a rampage just moments ago. I stared at her face, noting the shifts in her expression. After a long, tense silence, she fished out her phone and unlocked the screen. She was still using the cheap phone case that I'd bedazzled myself. The liquid glitter inside the casing was like a shimmering rainbow, our initials swirling with it. Looking at the phone case now, I realized just how at odds it looked with Felicia's extravagant get-up.

GIVE ME EVERYTHING

GIVE ME EVERYTHING

She watched in awe as the music started drifting through the room and he stepped up to the microphone and began singing Now and Forever by Richard Marx. Hearing him singing about love, pledging his love for her, promising to be her man until the end of time brought tears to her eyes. When the men behind him joined in on the chorus, some of their voices off-key, some singing beautifully, she was bawling her eyes out. At the end of the song, Darius set the guitar down and walked to her, pulling a small box from his pocket as he knelt on the bed of rose petals.

Another amazing book by Emma Swan. I really enjoyed it. This book is well written, but could use another pass at editing. It's edited very well compared to other books in the app, but compared to her other books, which are usually perfect, it needs a bit of editing. Other than that, it's perfection.

A Foolish Husband's Mistake

A Foolish Husband's Mistake

He saw her reduced to a handful of ashes, which I buried in my hometown. Nick's voice cut through the tension like arctic wind, "Effective immediately, the Shenton Group severs all ties with Rice Group ventures. What kind of businessman partners with a child-killer who wallows in moral sewage?" With those words, I watched the last flicker of hope die in Logan's eyes. He'd come crawling to Nick because his failing company desperately needed Shenton Group's capital to stay afloat. Now not only was that lifeline gone, but any firm connected to the Shenton empire would blacklist the Rices entirely.

I Died a Fool. I Woke Up a Queen

I Died a Fool. I Woke Up a Queen

The Public Humiliation The clock struck ten. The music faded, and Julian stepped onto the small stage, grabbing a microphone. He looked at me, his eyes gleaming with a mixture of triumph and malice. "Can I have everyone’s attention?" Julian’s voice boomed. "Today is my birthday, but it’s also a day of 'new beginnings.' Vivienne, darling, why don't you come up here? I know you have something for me." The room went silent. The elite of New York turned to watch the billionaire heiress play the fool for her chauffeur’s son once again. Stacy smirked from the front row, clutching a designer bag I’d bought her last Christmas.

Decade of the Fool

Decade of the Fool

“What are you standing there for, Duncan? You work here, don’t you? Must I, the director of this company, personally ask for your help?” Her furrowed brow and self-important tone made the bile rise in my throat. Just as I was about to explain that Morgan not only understood the language we were using but could speak it fluently, Nathan struck without warning. He shoved me violently from behind and delivered a kick to the back of my knees, forcing me to the ground. “Do you even know who this man is?” Nathan sneered. “He’s Mr. Brooke’s personal assistant—used to be a mercenary. You got caught impersonating the real Duncan. You’d better get on your knees and beg for mercy!”

The Fall

The Fall

We were near a small clearing, and I thought I could sketch the landscape. I sang softly to the song that I asked them to play at my fathers funeral, "Yelling at the sky, Screaming at the world. Baby, why'd you go away? I’m still your girl, Holding on too tight, Head up in the clouds, Heaven only knows where you are now..." Hunter laid across my legs, as I drew in my book. "How do I love? How do I love again? How do I trust, How do I trust again? I stay up all night, tell myself I'm alright. Baby, you're just harder to see than most, I put the record on, wait ’til I hear our song. Every night, I'm dancing with your ghost. Every night, I'm dancing with your ghost..." I pulled out the unopened
