"Joshua, can you hear me?" I stood watching from the sidelines. There was a heavy, unidentifiable ache in my chest. Seeing them this heartbroken gave me a twisted sense of satisfaction, though it quickly dissolved into numbness. I was already dead. What was the point of saying all those things now? I could never go back. At that thought, a tear slipped down my cheek, and I began to sob uncontrollably. Beside my body, Mom stood frozen. Dad's crying finally seemed to snap her out of her trance.

“How are we going to pay the staff salaries?” “I’m so sorry, Jules. But I’m sure we’ll find a way.” “This feels like a dead end.” “You don’t have to be so pessimistic right now.” “But it is. His voice was a fragile rasp, each word a struggle. "I missed you," I confessed, my voice breaking. "I missed you so much." His eye glistened with unshed tears. "You shouldn’t have, Lilly. I was ready to die..." His words pierced me, and tears burned at the back of my eyes. I shook my head vehemently. "I wasn’t ready to let you go." George threw Juliet onto the couch and shouted, "Anderson, come here immediately!” "JULIET, YOUR DAY TO DIE IS TODAY, BUT I WON'T KILL YOU JUST YET. WHERE'S YOUR DAD?” George's eyes were blazing with fury.

Juliet laid On her bed staring at her white ceiling. She couldn't believe she could be so careless and walk with a literal stranger so late at night. What if he had been a creep and tried to harm her. He didn't look like one but she still had to be careful. What if he had tried to hurt her or even worse? She glanced at her beside the clock and sighed. “I shouldn't have talked to him” Juliet muttered, remembering how she told him and how she had cried uncontrollably. He looked really confused…

She walks to the bar and pours herself a glass of wine then walks back to them and blows them cheers before taking a sip and dropping the glass on the table not still saying anything or even doing like she is the one Mrs. Avery just spoke to.
