The Surgeon's Foolish Wife

The Surgeon's Foolish Wife

If he can't even hang on for a few minutes, then if he dies, it's just his time. It felt like a bucket of ice water had been dumped over me, head to toe. So this was how Clara really saw my father. Worthless. Beneath contempt. But she forgot—my father was just a farmer, but he'd treated her like his own daughter. When Clara's family's finances fell apart, and they were drowning in debt, my father emptied his life savings to bail her out. And now she had the nerve to call him worthless. To say he deserved to die.

Loathed Wife of the Wicked Billionaire

Loathed Wife of the Wicked Billionaire

I saw that the ham I was slicing was wet with my tears. He tsked. The sound of him mocking me is visible to the sound his mouth created. —- "You're pitiful, Athara. You even beat the child who believed the tooth fairy was real even though that thing was just a lie. You are like a child who adores Cinderella and believes that if she leaves her sandal, Prince Charming will chase her and she will have a happy ever after life. You are like a child who believed that a woman who was half a fish got on his feet to see the prince he saved when the ship he was on sank. Just a fool of you believing that everything I said is true. You're such a pathetic shit, Athara. You're really silly, woman," he sai

Take Me Back: The Alpha's Regret

Take Me Back: The Alpha's Regret

Perhaps, he did not intend to save me at all. He might had look at me with so much fun because I believed him with all my heart! Was he just kidding all those times? "Dang, I'm tired of all these shits." "Be patient, man, we will get our fair share once it's done." Tears started falling from my eyes. It was a silent weeping. He really fooled me well, and he succeeded! He succeeded in making a fool of me! Because I believed him even though I barely trusted anyone that was there.

Pretty good book with MANY ups and downs and new plot twists. Some loose ends never tied up, and a ton of incorrect pronoun usage in sentences or using the wrong character name that can make it hard to follow. Definitely want to see an epilogue to maybe close the loop on some side stories.
Bollygal
I loved the ending, but it was a bit rushed. I was hoping for some extra chapters, a bonus, or an epilogue. Is there going to be a book 2? I don't want to give anything away. But the ending seems incomplete. We need more, please!!!

Corrupt Temptation

Corrupt Temptation

The words reverberated behind me. After much effort, my tears finally came out and ran down my cheeks in hot stinging trails. They were no longer only for Willa. They were for me. Because I foolishly and naively thought Sloan might be different. that he could serve as a dependable mooring in this whirling mayhem. A fool. Complete utter fool. I was devastated…foolish. I feel so totally alone.

STONE HEARTED

STONE HEARTED

I explained, seeing his expression fall. "I'm sorry then. I apologize for allowing myself to fall in love with you. I'm sorry for believing you might love me. I'm sorry for seeking your friendship. I'm sorry for it all, and I assure you, I won't repeat that mistake," tears finally cascaded down his cheeks as he averted his gaze. "God, I'm such a fool. I should have realized you merely pitied me. I was just a penniless man who-" "No, that's not how I meant it," I sighed, attempting to approach him, but he held me back.

Love Me Not, Mr. Snow

Love Me Not, Mr. Snow

“Hell, I even fell for Dominic’s act, the supposed good guy, the one who was supposed to help me escape. I was so desperate to believe in someone that I didn’t see the lies right in front of me. How could I have been so blind, so utterly stupid?” “And you know what that makes me?” I continued, my voice raw with self-mockery. “An idiot. An accurate example of a fool who let her heart lead her straight into a trap, not once, but twice”

Gentleman Code

He propped himself on the small bureau by the door to the secretary's surprised expression. "I just thought ...." "Don't think, what are you doing? Just get out of here. And I'll call you if I need you." "Uh...all right. Apologies, Sir. " He pushed away and headed for the door. “I’ll be back later, then. “ "God, I'm surrounded by utter fools.” Tennyson said “Complete, hopeless fools. First the ridiculous maids, now this.. " The Lord turned back to the other man and began . “ So what do you want to…”

Questions fréquentes

In the book, the way he made me feel like a fool was so subtle yet cutting. It wasn't through grand gestures or dramatic confrontations, but through tiny, almost invisible digs—backhanded compliments, 'forgetting' important details I'd shared, or framing my actions as naive. The author built this dynamic so masterfully that I didn't even realize I was being undermined until the emotional payoff hit. Half the time, I found myself questioning whether I was overreacting, which just added to the brilliance of the portrayal.

The real kicker? The other characters barely noticed. It made the isolation of being gaslit feel even more palpable. By the end, I was flipping pages furiously, equal parts furious and impressed by how well the narrative mirrored real-life power imbalances.
