I only read it well tried to when Voltage brought the contract to me. "Haven't you already read the book?" I question. I push my empty plate forward then wrapped my finger around my glass of milk. "Yeah but I still don't want you spoiling the movie for me." She says with a shrug. I roll my eyes.

Garren chuckled. We left the camp and headed towards our destination. Only three more days and we would be there. During our trek, I had finally learned what the Everlasting fire mark was. It was like a bond similar to what my parents had. But this was more potent. It made us more than soul mates. Unlike the mate bond, though, the farther apart we were, the more chaos it brought to the world. The more we fought it, the more it pulled us together until we were mad with lust for one another. But, in a sadistic way, I found relief in it. Found it satisfying to know I wouldn't be the only one going crazy.

“Okay.” The rest of the night went on without incident. We watched the bands and hung out with our friends. Z and I hung out and talked a little bit throughout the night, but mostly did our own thing. Once the last band finished, we were all finishing up our drinks and planning on what to do after. Hannah had shown up about 30 minutes into the first bands set. I had noticed her hanging around or all over Z a few times tonight. I tried not to think much of it, but I could barely contain my eyerolls at her overly friendly behavior. “You are heading home Ash?”

Mom sat me down on the couch, brought me a small tub of cookie dough ice cream, and then sat with me as we watched a movie. I woke up the next morning feeling terrible. Still, today was the day I was finally moving out of our small town of Evergreen Heights and was finally going to live in a big city! I went to the bathroom and changed into my leggings, a sports bra, and a tank top. We began loading the heavy items when the movers pulled up to the house. Once everything was on the truck, we put what was left in my car. I hugged Mom, “I’ll see you there, okay?” Mom said, trying hard not to cry; I smiled as much as possible and then got in the car, hitting the road for my new home.

The questions turn into more deeper questions which morphs into Never Have I Ever. So we all move into the living room ignoring the other party goers and just enjoying our time together. Probably one of the last times we might all be together. After their last semester we will all move onto to the bigger and better things of the future. We will all still remain best friends and the group messages will never stop but it’s surreal to think we are almost at the end of a crazy, wild adventure.
